I'mjust lovin' that 'Stang Stang ! Keep it going.

I've done a bit more on my Me 263. If I can just tidy ip around the nose a bit more, it'll be ready for a wash and canopy masking.

My Komet Kollection is edging towards completion.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Tony: Coming along nicely!

I got the Corsair post-shaded (I think it's called) over the weekend and started decaling. Not sure how well anything shows up in the harsh artifical lighting though.

That looks super good, Gamera. I should start on mine but I have a few kits on the bench already.

Thanks Brandon! Looking forward to seeing you get revved up!

These decals were funny, they're a name brand but they had more glue on them than I've ever seen- it was coming off in lumps when I wet them. Still on drying it turned invisible so no complaints!

With my eyes so used to seeing Corsairs in blue I feel a bit taken aback when I see one in camo. I love it. It looks fantastic.

There sure is a lot of great work going in this thread. I especially like the look of that Corsair in camo crown r7.

Been bogged down trying to get past painting but the stripes are now on and I can totally see why Lewbud loved tiger meet schemes.

This build is for Toshi & Ezra. Toshi loved teaching Ezra to build models. I remember him letting  the little guy just paint it however he wanted. I think i even remember a NMF B24 or B25 that Ezra painted with a brush! Ezra was learning to use the airbrush if I remember correctly. So all this got me thinking I should see if my nephew would like to build a model.
Asked him back in November when visiting my mom and he said sure. He wanted to  uild a dinosaur, a Spinosaurus is what he wanted. Made popular by the latest Jurssic Park movie. I said I'd see if I could find one. He said, "it has to be a meat eater, NO plant eaters" he emphasized!

Had a look around and the only plastic one i found was fairly expensive. When i visited again in December he brought it up and asked if I had found anything. That sealed it, off i went to order the Spinosaurus.

Which gets us to tonight. I brought the model up to his place and we got started on it.  He was excited and worked on the whole thing. When we sat down and he opened the box he said “now it’s time to be a big boy”! This thing must weigh 3 or 4 pounds. The body is solid, not hollow. We needed a little painters tape to keep the tail in place lol

letting it dry tonight and then tomorrow we're going to paint it. I brought a bunch of Vallejo model color and a couple brushes for him to use Big Smile

Good on you.  Good way to get another generation interested.  Hopfully he'll stay interested and add more catagories of builds in the future.

You should have Dodgy add him to the roster, and the pic of the finished product.  Would make him proud as a peacock.

Hey Dodgy here's our finished model by Chris and Clayton, Pegasus' 1/24 Spinosaurus Balloons Done in memory of Toshi and how he enjoyed teaching and working with Ezra. It was 17 parts all together. Perfect for a 6 year old. It needed some adult help in that there was a bunch of flash in the hole for the head that needed cleared away before it would fit. The rest was almost a snap fit for him, the poeces are clocked so they can only go together one way.

can you believe he stayed focussed the whole time. Had a great morning and he was so proud to tell his dad he "painted it all myself"! I believe we may have a new modeler in our midst Welcome Sign

I finally got a start on the P-51C for Buddy, "Lewbud". I know he loved his 51's, so this one is for you Buddy.

This is going to be the "Boise Bee" when finished. I am hoping the landing gear will fit well enough to make it a flyer, but gear down if I have to. One simple shot of the cockpit before I close it up and lose it all. More to come.

Mongoose and Gamera, thank you for your comments. I wraped up on the wash now some small details, then the clear flat.

BK. The cockpit is well done and the pilot is awesome, did it come with the kit ?

Yes it did. It's the old Pro Modeller kit. I whipped the pilot out in about an hour of painting.

Thanks for the kind words.

Gamera. Thank you. I was surfing through past GB's came across Stikpusher's Latin American GB form 2013 and your F4U-1A looks awesome.

This corsair is done for my friend Toshi and he really liked the corsair so I made this unique F4U-1A for him.

This build was a lot of fun, free hand camo is how I started airbrushing 44 years ago with a binks airbrush and a small freon can and spitting water. I still have that plane and will post it one of these days lol.
