I've begun work on the Panther, road wheels and hull. I think I will go ahead and move that build to the new GB thread. I would encourage all who have not completed ANY of their SSGB kits to move those over to the new GB thread for 2023. We will work on ALL of those kits there under one location.

Ouch.
If it helps, I came across a set that may work. https://www.super-hobby.com/products/King-Tiger-Late-18-Teeth-Tracks-w-Sprockets-for-TAMIYA.html
I've bought this brand before, and I like them. They are 3D printed and each workable run is pre-assembled. The only downside is that it looks like the shipment doesn't come in until next March.
Well, that sucks. Oh well, do what you can and carry it over to the new SSGB thread. It's all part of the modeling experience.

Awesome Mach1! Apparently the metal tracks for my kitty kat arrive on Tuesday, so I hope to have things moving again next week.
Those Tiger schemes are incredible. This one is awesome. Love what you've done here.
Sorry for going so long between updates, but I finally have the decal issue sorted out. I wound up having to photocopy the decals, trim the image from the copy to make a mask, and paint the area inside the mask Light Ghost Gray before applying the decal.
With this last challenge out of the way, the finish line is quickly approaching!
Thanks BK and Brad.
That autumn camo is my favorite. Hope things go well with the new tracks!

At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
No worries, keep at it. I am not going to get to mine before December and likely finish sometime next year. I have run out of time and like many of us, life got in the way. No problem, that's just how it is.
Brandon I apologize profusely, but I'm going to have to let you and the wonderful person who sent the Tiger to me, down. I started on the link and length tracks and they were a disaster. Not the fault of the kit, rather the clown trying to assemble them. I have now ordered a set of metal tracks and will re-commence the build when they arrive.
Thanks BK! Planning to have her finished in a week or so.
Dodgy, that is looking quite stunning. Super nice work there.
Thanks John!
Wow Dodgy! Looking good.
Thanks,
John
Nearly there. Tracks, weathering and mudguards left...........
New SSGB post is up. New rule for this new year moving forward.
ALL unbuilt gifts can be posted and completed in ANY active SSGB, even if you are not active in that year's gift pool.
Ta Mach1. I intend to finish the cammo this weekend so that I can get the road wheels on and start on the link and length track. Not done this sort of track before, so don't know what to expect.
Camo looks great Dodgy!
Thanks Glamdring.
Looks good to me!

"I can't get ahead no matter how hard I try, I'm gettin' really good at barely gettin' by"
Thanks BK!
I think it looks great. I don't see any issues here whatsoever. I find that when I have got some areas I am not pleased with they disappear when I do weathering and flat coat. Don't sweat the small stuff and carry on. It really does look great.
Some new pics as promised. I was very unsure of how to go about painting the camo. I'm not great with the airbrush freehand and was worried about stuffing it up. I tried bluetack worms, but with so many surface protusions I thought there would be too much bleed. Then I read an article by a bloke who tried hand painting his camo and although he was not really happy with the brush job, he said that after dot filters and weathering it came out pretty good. So this is what I have gone for. I have to do another coat on the brown and touch up the green in some areas, but I have to say that at the moment I am very nervous. The brush strokes seem enormous. Time will tell. And yes the gun barrel is missing and so is the MG mount. Both victims to handling. Anyway whilst the gun barrel was off I decided to paint the camo on it. It only has green on the top half of the barrel. Sadly when I came to re-fit the barrel I found that I had painted the bottom half with camo. Such a goose!
Sorry blokes, don't mean to disrespect anyone. Will have some Tiger shots posted after the weekend.
Lots of folks overcomit, life gets in the way etc. I understand that. This is my second SS GB and I always prioritised it as a token of respect to the person who made an effort to buy me something. I am OK if it becomes a gift exchange and then build when you can, then post it maybe in the "your last three builds" thread with a note that it was a SS gift exchange kit.
The majority of the peeps in this year's build have not been around in some time. I have'nt seen many of them in the forums at all for months. This has been a strange year. I started with great momentum and now I am running out of time and I don't have time to build. This GB is becoming more and more a gift exchange more than a GB over the last few years. I may have to rethink this whole thing. Ideas are appreicated.
3/4 way there and only 3 models finished. C'mon guys, somebody made an effort to send you a gift
I am so far behind on building right now it's not funny. I really don't have time atm. I am planning on another SS for this year. At the very least we can exchange some cool kits, even if we don't get them built that year. The kits are always welcome to be added to the existing GB.
