Group Build-Posted by Mistake in (General Discussions)
Posted by Tanker-Builder on Thursday, August 25, 2022 9:15 AM

Hi!

It is a simple Build, anything from all groups of real subjects fromWW1 all the way to today, All categories( Autos included) In the suggestion for the Build, Opening Oct.1st, 2022, running to Oct.1st,  2023 This is intended to help, Kick start those "What If" cells, as to how in your mind things could've or should've evolved in design and Power(Or lack thereof)

NOTE:    Mechanix Illustrated, Science Illustrated, and others like Popular Science and the Car and Driver, Hot Rod ETC. mags promised on things never delivered(That goes for housing too)  Would've been interesting, Wouldn't it??

Tanker Builder,

If this is the same group build that you mentioned in the General Discuswsion subforum regarding "extraploating" how stuff might of/could of "evolved", I'd like to do a WWI armor build "if the Armistice hadn't been signed" when it was.

I have a 1/35 scale Emhar Hermaphrodite Mk V tank model kit that I bought off eBay.  It appears that it was previously started, but very little was done on it.  I've got some thoughts about lengthening it to be similar to a Mk V* or Mk V** length and then putting a simple turret ontop instead of in a sponson, like on a normal Heraphrodite version of the tank.  And with a turrer ontop I am thinking of maybe using Female sponsons on both sides.

Please let me know if this is in line with what you were thinking of for this Group Build Smile

Regards

Pat

Hey Pat!

Hey, this is for the "What Ifs" in any Genre, let's see your stuff! Mainly it's to see how folks would design or create the next Gens. of vehicles and equipment as well as Planes Ships,Boats, and Cars. I have seen and created some weird Armor pieces over the years)Wish I still had those photos!

How about an M-48-A1 converted to a Bubble topped Closed Nitrogen Power system Multi Purpose Heavy Rover with a four man crew! For Moon prospecting!

TB-similar question but slightly different...maybe.

I have the Revell Corvette Indy kit in the stash-this was a 'show car'/hopeful prototype of the much desired mid-engine Corvette, build a couple of generations before the actual mid-engine Corvette was built.  Would this kit qualify?

Thanks

Bob

Yes! Yer In! The AeroVette is also a candidate here. Customized from original or opened up to ridiculousness! Go for it! The Main thing to remember here. NOT BOX STOCK! Wild engines on a car that didn't have them. Raucus paint, Bubble tops. The works!

Here's a good example,The Aerovette as a ground effects vehicle with a Bubble top and seating for three. Passengers side by side behind the driver and driver front and center! I don't recommmend it because of it's collectability! I thought about it. A Glue Bomb LEVA-CAR. Now with a Corvair or Porsche Turbo and Four wheels. It's still a one passenger car I don't think you can change that!

This build sounds like an excellent excuse to expand my tool selection and supplies.

I'm thinking a 1917 Model T series vehicle with rocket/jet pods instead of wheels, Maybe a glass canopy for the driver somewhere and it's gotta have a nose cone.  Nose cones are a must for a rocket Model T.

If you're good with that count me in!

I might have something too TB. I overcommitted again in 2022 after saying I wouldn't (again). But lemme see what I've got...

Well! remember;

It's a G.B. Extrapolating what something would've developed into from W.W.1 to today. This means Planes, Tanks and Softskin Armor Ships, and Yes, there's room for cars too!

Hey TB, is this GB a go? I'm on the home stretch on a couple of projects, and I'm looking to start something "a little less serious." I think some WIFs would be fun!

Oortiz10-One ,Two, Three---GO !

Remember from W.W.-1 all the way to today, All comers. Let's see what your imagination brought forth that was a Logical or very Illogical Progression of Design. This Also includes You, Science Fiction folks, Oh And Figures too! Remember Fashions have changed too, Not necessarily for the better( Remember That Hussy's Meat Dress?)

This can also be covered in the early WW-1 years by Steampunk too! I am working on sumpin. So you won't see me hiding anymore(I Hope)
