I was also going to make this a sticky but don't know how. Does anybody know how to make this GB a sticky? Since the start date is only a week and a half away, it would be great to get this a sticky. Anybody know how? Thanks.

Although not cute, sexy, ferocious, etc, the "Hedgerow" defined the Normandy campaign, not just for the direct effect on the ground war, but the indirect effect on the air/sea missions/support of the ground war.
So maybe a GB Badge based on a thick bush ??

Who is doing the badge..??!

I need to buy a Concord book, the one on US Tank Battle in Normandy (or Northern France I do not remember!) before I start this. There'as a cool pic of a destroyed Panther in there!

Thanks so much Lawrence, I needed some help with that! Thanks!

I'm doing the GB patch, untill anybody volunteers to. Anybody want to make it? Just ask and it's yours to do.

Hey Armor Master you should extend this to Operation Cobra, the breakout, and the Falaise gap too, if so I'll get in on this Build

I just might, but the only problem is the official Normandy campagn dates were from June 6 through July 24. Fighting in the Falaise Gap and Operation Cobra was on July 24, but it continued even to July 30. Thats 6 days over the official dates. But I can't exclude it because fighting did occur on July 24. Allright, everybody tell me what you think about it, but I'll include it in. Your in Ddayomaha. But please everyone, tell me what you think of me including this. Thanks.

I like the idea of the hedgerow for the badge, but invasion stripes would also be terrific!

I'm torn between a p47 or a bunker scene

sorry guys, too lazy to read the other posts. When is the start and end date to this build?
I've been torn between this and the D-Day build, but I don't want to buy another kit (too many unbuilt ones lying around), and I'd like to finaly model a Panther. Correct me if I'm wrong please, but didn't the 12th SS panzer division have Panther's in Normandy?
I was watching a special last night on the History Channel, and they had a whole bunch of stuff on D-Day and Normandy.

Start June 6th End September 11

You can model anything that was used from June 6th- July 30th 1944.

Sounds good. Are there photos required? I don't have a digi cam, so posting pics for me is pretty difficult.

Not required, but it would be great as always. You can participate without photos, but tell us what your building and try to get a finished pic if you can. If there's no way to do it than thats fine, but if it is possible then post them. So are you in zokissima?

Yeah I am going to try to keep it straight out of the box (yeah right) then maybe give it to a buddy of mine cause tigers are his favorite. [:0]

Ok, I'm in for sure....but I can't start right away. What I'm thinking of doing is a downed P-47, with a German half track with guys jumping out going to investigate and a Wirblewind driving down a road on the other side of the hedgerow. By the way, it's all in 1/72 scale!
