Sorry to hear of your loss LoneWolf1seven.

I think (unless I hear differently) I’m going to postpone/cancel this build at this time, as there doesn’t seem too much interest.

Please let me know if anyone feels otherwise…

Looks like it will be the end of the March before I get started. I am wrapping up a couple other GB's before I get started, and I want to get a bunch done on my Vacuform Fokker for that GB. Still need to decide on aircraft kits. I know at least one will be an Oscar, maybe two...and maybe a Dinah..I wish I could make up my mind.

So how is everyone doing on thier build? Well JD and I are still in the planning stages. We have alot on our plate at time, but if you dont have the time to do it right the first time, when will you find the time to do it over? We want to hear from you and see your progression.
Happy buildingBig Smile [:D]...........

yeah, me and craig still have some stuff to figure out, but we're getting there. i just went through my parts bins to find some little extras that'd be good (shop tools etc.) for our scene. i've been spending a lot of time building websites lately which unfortunately has been taking away from my model building :(

It'll be just a bit before I actually get started on my dioramas, please note my newest signature. Big Smile [:D] I did pick up another kit, one of the vehicle I'm using the other day. Now I just need the aircraft. I keep changing my mind or I'd have them too.Confused [%-)]

thats a variety of programs, i borrowed a photoshopped pair of images someone made, did the morph with a program called smartMorph, and then added the text and got the timing worked out with ulead GIF animator.

i had a much higher quality version, but unfortunately when i went and optimized it to be web safe (and less than 350kb) it really lost a lot of quality

I've just done some calculations, and I still don't know where my brains were when I came up with my invasion idea... I'll have to think of something else to do, otherwise my room might just be big enough for the dio.

I'll catch up when (and if) I get a better idea, guys.

I thought of an easy one to do! The pocket battleship Graf Spee before and after the Montevideo battle..! The Graf Spee has always fascinated me (don't know why!). The easiest would be to build the ship before the battle, pristine-like, and a 'today' shot with just the top of the mast sticking out..! LOL

Seriously, a burnt up Graf Spee, after it was scuttled, would be a tad more challenging..!

Decisions, decisions!

alright, for mine, I think I am going for a Panzer I, leaving on a rail car for Poland, or Holland, somewhere in the early war. Then the second half Some German Infantry, maybe a vehicle desprately trying to hold off a Russian Attack.
Sounds like this is going to be My first Urban dio. I'm thinking of a title, "how the tide has turned" and I cant wait to start!
(Probably not till summerSad [:(] I got so many GB's right now, I dont know what to do!)

It’s official; it’s time to start the Before & After Group Build! I promise to come up with a badge in the next day or two.

Well after briefly considering a change from my original idea I have decided to run with it.

My first diorama will be a pretty basic offering of a WWII Japanese Pacific airbase. 2 aircraft, 1 vehicle, several figures and misc. other “props.” The vehicle will be servicing a two engine aircraft and there will be a single engine aircraft reading for take off. The figures will be positioned so as to be looking/reacting to a point somewhere off the scene. I hope to covey the feeling of an Allied air attack coming in from off the scene.

The second diorama will be many years later. It will consist of the two engine aircraft and the vehicle from the first diorama. The original plane and vehicle will be in a state of disrepair and the jungle will have encroached on the scene. I will add a second vehicle, a jeep, to this diorama. It will have three figures, a native islander, a man and a woman. They will be standing in the same area that the bulk of the Japanese figures were. The native “guide” will be pointing to the same point that had the attention of the figures from the first diorama, and the man and woman’s gaze will be fixed that way. This diorama will represent early “adventure tourism.”

I know that the jungle may have completely taking over the vehicles from the time period of the first diorama to the second but some “artistic’ license will be taken.

Ok…lets hear about some of your plans and ideas for this build! Richard & Dan, I like your ideas and can't wait to see your progress.

Good luck and have fun everyone.

I have come to a decision on my build. During WWII the Germans launched the worlds first cruise missile against England using the Feiseler Fi-103 (V-1 Buzz Bomb). As the war was winding down the US captured one and brought to the US for evaluation. That evaluation turned into Americas first cruise missile, the Loon. The Loon gave way to the worlds first atomic cruise missile which was the Chance Vought Regulus One. Seeing I have already done many Regulus dioramas I will use the V-1 for the before and the Loon for the after. My research has been started and I have begun to collect the materials and kits for the dioramas. As soon as I can I will start posting photos of what I intend to use. I believe this is going to be a fun project and am looking forward to see all of your work.

Well, I'm ready with the planning stage, but it will be a while till I'll be able to start building since I will need to buy quite a few kits and my budget is limited somehow at the moment. But since ending is end september that shouldn't be my main problem.

The problem that I have (and maybe you guys can help me out) is finding civilians (more speceficly sunbaders) in 1/35.
I will be doing a forced perspective of one of the beaches of Normandy ; at the right side in 1944 at the left side in 2005. The box will have different scales ofcorse, on the foreground 1/35 going deeper to 1/72, 1/87 and way back maybe to 1/110 (I'm not sure about the last one yet.

Man I can't believe it's just a few hours before the start of this build and I'm thinking of making a complete u-turn in my idea for my diorama, from a military to auto.
