Help With Starting A Group Build

Most importantly, I want to know how to make a list without adding a new reply everytime somebody signs up. Please help.

i will give it a shot. first what is the subject you want to cover? have you thought about a time frame? with those two things you can start a thread. when you get some interest you can get some rules down and define the parimeters of the build.

To add people just "edit" the original post where the list was started.

Edit is in the upper right hand corner of your post, between "delete" and "qoute."

How do I make and distribute a Badge? That is all I need to know now. I've got the other stuff down. Please Reply. Thank you.

making a badge is not a strong suite for me so i wont jump in with an answer. wish you the best though. group builds can be fun.

I have been on the boards since Novemeber...got one started almost right away. Getting an idea for subject matter is really important, from there the Group Badge comes much easier...as far as posting one and getting it hosted I am about as sharp as a bag of wet mice...

to distribute the badge you will jjust need to post it on the first topic when you edit it.
to make the GB patch, well, I dont know how to make em, but sometimes a member of your GB will know how and will offer to make a badge.

Design it, post it, host it and then link it.

Design: Design your badge using a graphics program like Photoshop or similar.

Post: Post it in your group build thread so all involved can copy it.

Host: Upload it to a site like Photobucket.com or similar.

Link: Link it from your Photobucket account to the signature line of your profile.

I took a look at your profile...Paper projects, German Luft 46 type stuff...I think these have been done...just as a suggestion what about a Spanish Civil War build? German stuff and while it is not 46 it is off the beaten path as pre 39.

Plus to get real creative, the Group Badge could be Picasso's Guernica.

The only problem is that the actual piece of art is so dynamic it would be a shame to see it condensed into a GB Badge...but it may be a good GB idea...Rick bought up a good point, there seems to be a real flurry of GB, holding off may be a good idea...I know I am committed and in three weeks we kick our spring season off...

true... I am smacked to the gills with build for at least the next 2 or 3 months or so... gonna refrain for awhile from joining new ones... but lets remember the idea!

Will somebody answer me this. This is all I have left. I have the picture in place, but all it shows for the pictureis a red X. What am I doing wrong? Is there a specific type of file ( jpg..) that I need to post the pictures in? Please help; I'm getting desperate.

Yes, jpg is the normal format for posting pictures. Most photo hosting sites will not accept bmp. gif works sometimes. Make sure your photo address is correct. Right click on the photo (when in the host site), left click at the bottom of the list on "properties", then put the pointer on address, hold down left click and drag the pointer to the end. This should highlight the whole address. With the pointer somewhere in the address, right click again, then left click on "copy"
Go to your post in FSM forum and put the cursor where you want the picture to be. Right click and then left click on "paste". Put behind it, without the space before the ending bracket. preview and see if the picture shows up. If it does, then post it.
