Artillary GB
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, March 13, 2005 4:50 PM
Im thinking this could be a good and fun idea. I am a sucker for artillery, so depending on how many responses i get on it id like to start one.

Guidlines: It has to be built by the end of 2005. It starts Now!
-SPG can be built
-AAA can be built
-Towed Guns can be built
-Emplaced Artillary is okay too
-Mortars can be built
-it does not have to be either indirect or direct fire, both can be built.

P.S. - Thanks for the badge John This is what we will use

P.S.S.- You can build TWO or More if you are crazy enough!

Here is who I have so far:

TankerGeoff - Flak-88
Ackman - FH-18
Redleg1-7FA - M-109 E-4
Zokissima - Flak-88
JFPuishys - Pak-40
Johnforaster - M-198
Neo_Hacker21- (some type of howitzer)
MAnic Mooran - PzH2000

Here's the main parts of my kit, also the smaller parts (in bags), during the clean up process. I've begun the glueing process now.

Happy Easter!

Just reminding you that I'm in with the M-7 Priest. It's listed in the thread on the Armor board but not on this one. Thanks

I guess you mean the K-5 railgun? Of course, the Nazis used more than just the K-5.

Im working on the AFV Club seFH-18. Man, that kit is really starting to get on my nerves. Th plastic is rather brittle and there is alot of flash for a new kit. I spend most of my time cleaning and sanding. It isnt that I mind doing this, but even the smallest pieces have a seam line or flash, and the part alignment isnt the best in the world. AHHH.
Ok, now that Ive vented my frustration, I'll take a break and get back to it. I feel alot better now.

panzer67: yes, the 155mm M-198 Howitzer is currently in service with the Australian Army. The kit is all resin, made by a small company known as Aussie Armour, basically a 'back-yard' company specializing in (surprise surprise!) Australian Army vehicles and conversions. The kit is reasonably expensive, RRP $128.00AUD (about $100US) it's worth every cent!! Great detail on the surface and a very comprehensive kit too! I can't wait to get stuck into the weathering!
As for you gun, it's looking tops! Keep it up!

John

Here's the gun, just out of paint!! There's still a few areas to touch up, but it's almost ready for the transfers and weathering!

Tell me what you think...

John

panzer67: the camo is called AusCam, it's the camo of the Australian Army. That's where this gun is set.

John

Man, that 198, now that is a gun.
The Aussie camo looks good too. Its odd when you look at a US 198, then see a Ausie 198 or LAVs for that matter. The colors used are strark to each other.

Yes, that's right. However, take a look at the difference in the camo on their uniforms!

US Army DPU -
Australian Army DPCU -

You can see that the AusCam blends into a much lighter shade than the US Army camo. I guess this is because the US (and Britain and even New Zealand) are in a much more temperate climate than Australia.
Thanks for the comments! Thumbs Up [tup] The gun is about to go into weathering, but I'm working on my Stealth a/c GB build atm.
Cheers,
John

Haven't started anything yet. I will be changing my entry however to the M-110 A2 or the MLRS, not sure which one yet.
