Great looking Subaru!!!Looks ready to go.

Well, it took me long enough but the L/70 is done.The Zim is Apoxie Sculpt, the side Shurzen is scratched from thinner stock and iy has a Jordi Rubio barrel.While the Tamiya kit is showing it's age it was still fun to build and I look forward to doing acouple more.This will be going into a small dio, just like all my other builds will as soon as I come up with a display case.It's dusty out here in the country and I hate to dust builds.

All done! Excuse the quality of the pics, light was not too good! I got sidetracked and only took photo's late in the day... Amazing how the low sun picked up and reflected the dust, etc I did not even notice till I saw the pics! Angry [:(!]

And the window that looks fine indoors looks filthy in the one pic!

Almost done... Finished 95% of the decalling on the Suby, after that quickly brighten up the surfaces, the arials. This is the last time I'll only do the decalling this late, having found ith my current MotoGP build it's much better do it beforehand, then it's easy to clearcoat and polish decently. Banged Head [banghead]

Lights in! CF'ed the side mirrors, which took me about 4 days over 3 session of decalling! Still need to smoke it, then insert the mirror itself. And knowing myself, that is exactly where I'll ruin the CF decals! Wink [;)]

Apart from that, next up will be the front aero intakes and radiators, rear wing allready prepared for assembly, roof camera, decals and arials.

Think we're building till beginning of May...

Had a bit of progress on the Subaru. Finished the interior, started on the body, which went quite well. Then managed to get the most gunk attracted to clear on the windshield I have EVER seen! Bit of fine sanding and rubbing compound got it to be better, if not perfect (by any stretch of the imagination).

Now for light and other bits and pieces to be added...

I recently started construction of the AMT B-52G, early version, for this Group Build. I will not have the EVS turrets under the nose, the Phase VI tail extension nor all the ECM bumps and antennas. I plan to finish it in the natural metal over white with the AGM-28 Hound Dog missiles. This is the configuration of the aircraft of the 456th BombWing at Beale AFB, California, when I was first assigned there in 1965. The flight deck will not have ejection seats for the EWO and the Gunner as I cannibalized these two seats for a B-52D I am also building. You can't see that area anyway once the fuselage is put together. I drilled out several vent holes on the engine pods, but forgot to turn one over for the picture. Comments welcome.

Finished...old Heller Yak3. You know I think this kit represents a very late model YAK. In doing some for fun research I found the YAK3 VK107A. It's wings were all metal. It scaled out closer to the VK107 then a war time model and there are also some other differences...shape of canopy as well as the surface detail...it matches very closely to the line drawings of the VK107A...

Not the best photo around and there are a couple of panel lines that got out of control...all in all though I had fun...or at least I think I did...

Joe- That is one nice litt p-40. I like it even if it is a teaser.

For thos interested I will continue to post the Stuka here also. I am now ready to take it to the paint shop.

I am also adding another aircraft to this group build. It is the Trumpeter 1/24 Spitfire Mk5b. Here is the pit.

Quick update: The interior is coming along. Started on the seats... then saw that the detail set includes some material seatbelts. This is going to be taxing... Wink [;)]

So I will try getting going with that from tonight and over the weekend... If you see decal seatbelts, you'll know I managed to screw it up! The illustrations make it seem soooo easy!

Great work on the cockpit Joe!!!! Just touching base.Still going to do the Pz IV L/70. It may be abit yet till I dig into it.I have a couple of dio's in the works for Christmas gifts. I should be able to start the glueing about that time.So I'm not abandoning the build, just hanging about for now.I'm just too old to have too many projects at one time.I might glue Pz IV parts to my GMC 2 1/2 ton!!!!

I finally decided what I want to build for this group build. It is the AMT, 1/72 scale, B-52G, early version in NMF over white with GAM-77/AGM-28 Hound Dogs. It is for my soon to be grandson, (due Dec 08). It will hang over his bed so that he can go to sleep while being protected from the bad guys by a BUFF . His mother had a B-52D over her crib and flat refused to go to sleep if it wasn't there. The photo is the #4 engine pod. You have to start somewhere.

The big question is, "Can I get it done before he makes his grand debut?" If not, I guess he will just have to "tough it out" without the protection of SAC for a few days. It will also serve as a practice run for the "HEAVIES" group build which is due to start in the spring over on ARC.

Hey All,

Here's the progress on the hanger deck of my 1:350 Essex that came out the box as the Yorktown CV-10. I added styrene sheet and sprue to hide the molding marks on the inside of the bulkheads. A little artistic license, but it breaks up the empty spaces.
