WW II dio GB

Ok, here's where it stands now. I'm really not too happy at all by the appearance of the earth. Too much paint, and I painted it too lightly IMHO. Anyways, things left to do:

Couple more small trees to be added

Loose leaves to be added and a bit more work on the shrubs on the road

Try to do something with this damn groundwork. Any suggestions?

Heavy plastel process still left to go onto the building to tone it all down a bit. It's just jumping out way too much right now.

i actually feel like working on my build today but sadly i need to work on the anniversary of Stalin's death.....

Ok, as promised, the vehicles are done...

It all depends on your mixture. I make my groundwork out of actual dirt, mixed into mud with water and white glue. The less white glue, and more water I use, the more cracking I'll see.

Vehicles are finished, and I'll get some pics up soon.

Ok its taken me some time to get started, but here's my progress so far. Scratched base and everything. Insulation foam used. Groundwork is finely sifted potting soil. Bridge (kinda out of he picture here) is made from balsa and coffee stirring sticks. Academy M-18 and Tamiya cckw. THe ruined house is an italeri item, with a plaster foundation and scratched rubble. You can't see the water bed very well, but it will be filled using Woodland scenics realistic water. FIgures are part of the Tamiya dragon wagon crew, some Italeri Truck crew, and two Verlinden figure sets.

i agree, the layout looks awesome! as does the sherman and everything, the pics are really blurry though, (its ok my camera work is really bad too when it comes to models) great dio though! i wish mine would be that far built!

Progress- went to my local barber shop to do some "research" and a haircut (cuz im making one of the shops on the bottom floor of the building into a barber shop) found out exactly how a barber shop seat looks along with other things i could put into a barber shop... so i built a chair (when you really look at it, you see its a really complicated chair) finnished another chair, along with a newspaper stand, and some other furniture...so thats done...looks really cool, kinda feel bad now that i have to put rubble on top of it (cuz its right under a big hole in the building where a bomb hit)

tango- well you couold always say that a pillow factory blew up in the area of this action.....

not much progress here, but none the less, its progress.....i built the stowage bins (for good now) using balsa, i will put putty on it so it doesnt look like wood but metal, and then i could finnally get out of the interior!! now that i found alittle more refrence on the interior, (and becuz i couldnt find any kits for the  hanomag interior)  i was planning on doing the putty today, but i felt lazy, so i just watched black hawk down and drew portraits of larry and shemp (from the three stooges( yea i know random))

Looking good tango. Only ting I want to say is about the trees. They still have their leaves on and they dont look like pine trees. I suggest either replacing them with some pine trees or some twigs from the yard to simulate leafless trees.

If you do decide to keep these trees, be sure to cover up the seam mark where the tree connects to the stump.

tango- looks really cool so far! are you gonna put some figures in it? keep up the good work

well, i have time off from school, so im starting some work on my 251, i really dont feel like doing much, so im just divin in and out of it right now...hopefully some progress will come out of this.
