make a link to your GB in auto section. and decide which section you want the GB to stay in. that way people won't get confused with posts. i am putting the badge i designed at the other section.

Hey paknick I know this car is not a tuner but I thought I would show you a car that I have been working off and on for two years. she will be awsome when she gets finished. most of the chassie and motor is scratch built, the tubbing for the rear tires has been a chore but very fun. it will have a scratch built fuel cell and fuel lines when finished.

Depending on the time frame, I might be interested. My street tuner would be Mad Max's V-8 Interceptor.

No, not a scratchbuild. There is a plastic kit by Aoshima and several guys who sell resin ones. Haven't decided which one to try yet, but I've wanted to build one for a while, so this may be my inspiration.

I did a little more research last night. The main resin kit is made by Planet X and runs a cool US$ 120 ! (They also make kits of the two multi-colored Pursuit/Interceptor cars from the beginning of the movie, also for $120 each).

So, unless I win the lottery between now and next week, it looks like I'll be trying to track down the Aoshima kit. It's out of production, but I've seen it for sale in a couple of places so I think it's still generally available.

Let me know if you find anything else.

This may not be getting the interest you think it should because there is another forum dedicated to cars that's affiliated with this forum. Go to scaleautomag.com and you'll probably see more interest.

That being said, it's still good to see some car GB's going on in this forum. I'm particulary enjoying the Muscle car GB.

Building Now:

1/48 Academy Bf-109G6 - 100%

1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A - 5%

Upcoming:

1/48 Revell F-14D

Actually I am about 30 minutes' worth of work away from finishing an Eclipse ... if I hadn't started it yet, I'd be all over this GB.

But I'll watch. Cool [8D]

Good luck to everybody!!

Ralph that kit at this time is out of my budgit. so I will look for other ridesSad [:(]
arki-30 that muscle car build we are working on is the bomb. I hope to have more stuff done on the duster and challenger this week.

Yes, it turns out that the Mad Max kit is out of my budget as well. I realized I could spend $50 for one not very good car model or get 3 state-of-the-art armor kits for the same price - voted for the 3. Good luck to the rest of you with the build.

yea that price tag can get you at the minimum a recent tamiya or dragon armor kit with full set of aftermarket detail parts to go with it.

but why NOT try scratch building?? pretty sure several layers of weathering can get you one that will look just as good...

A reasonable question. I am actually in the middle of scratch building a 1:29 scale railroad flat car for my garden railroad, so I'm not averse to the general idea. However, this would be my first car model and I don't have enough confidence that I'd be able to do a reasonable job on it. I'd rather save up the money for the kit (I have since found places that sell it for $40, so looking around may save some money too) and spend the time on adding scratch details.

I WILL be building a model of this car at some point, as the first 2 Mad Max movies are among my favorites of all time. In fact, I hope to build a set of the brightly colored cars as well to make a little diorama; I'm just not likely to be able to do it all as part of this build.

Well the reason I put a year is so that the slow builders(no offense)can finish in time,to maybe even build a second kit.

sounds fine with me, n in hope that more people joins as it goes on for a year. that's the fun part as well. either way i got enough skylines to last me for the year... actually that spoken as a fact is almost kinda sad... yet interestingly i'd rather sign up with a Tamiya 300ZX convertible with some minor scratch built mods.
