Update done ddayomaha.
Panzer67 those guns look great, where do you get the plans for them, that Dora is going to be huge. Let me know what you'll be entering in the build, I'm flexible with the dates, I know railway guns take lots of time to build.

i have the plans from Dora and the book of the assembling of the dora,

this dora is 1/35 scale about 6 feet long 1 feet widht and about 2 feet high

i will enter in the build the Sieggfried to be shure to finish because in the dora actually working on railcars ( 8 ) and need to start the main gun and that is more difficult to do.

i bought from a collector the way to do the bruno family and are the next projects.

actually are about 600 hours of work in the dora and estimate to be at least 1000 hour in total.

yes is necessary to be mad to make this kind of projects..

I declare myself as guilty

but is very very much relaxing
thanks for understanding the dates flexibility.

cheers

panzer67, that is absolutely insane, but just amazing. I very much look forward to seeing progress shots of the Dora. Where did you find plans and the book. I'd give anything for those, as I'd love to scratchbuild one myself sometimes. Please contact me if you have any information and are willing to share.

molenz, I'd push the start date even farther back, say January 1st, 2006. That way, it's after the holiday ruckus, and more time is always good since there are a lot of GBs in progress now.

Hi :
the dora requires a lot of japanese patience...
a medical certificate of sanity because all yours friends ( out of the hobby )will think you are insane and absolutly all will ask you how much you can obtain of proffit if you sell THAT ¡¡ ( the model no matters for all they )

i think until now i made and glue about ......

a railcar has already 300 pieces ( there are 8 cars )
the support beam has about 300 pieces just of a kind
the base support had about 500 pieces
many paint really many paint until now aprox 15 bottles
spacklig compound aprox until now 2 pounds
etc, etc, etc,

... more than 5000

my wife say is my nonrecognized son due the time dedicated until now aprox 600 hrs and expected to finish in 1000 hrs as total.

is a very interesting model considering all...

Zokissima I'd like to keep the start date at 1st Dec, after all that 3 months away, but don't feel as if you have to actually start then. However I'll set the end date to the 31st Dec 06 which should be plenty of time for all. After all the most important thing is what you build and how well you build it not when you start and finish.
Panzer67 feel free to enter that Dora if you want.
BTW here is a guy who built a 1/16th Dora and if you check out his forums you'll see he sells 1/48th scale plans of the beast.

I was working on my 38 cms Siegfried  german railgun and was at the local countest yesterday

these are some of the last pics of the model...

all the box was in scratch just using the dremel mototool

the boogies are the canivalism betwen 2 leopolds and the gun was in a turning lathe in aluminium and polished (sorry for the bad pic)

and the next projects in progress...

the 24 and 28 cms german railguns kurzebruno, schwere bruno, lange bruno and theodore bruno

i know is before the date to start but will participate with another more ... i think the kurze bruno as you can see on next pic, the most advanced  member of the bruno family
