well i don't have the dendrobium and it looks like i will have to wait until after NDK-Denver until i can afford it but the good news is i did win the 1/144 meteor on ebay and have also ordered the 1/550 Dendrobium mechanics.  they both should be arriving in about a week or so. after i get them and get my apartment back organized after i have been rearranging it in order to fit the new tv i got from my apt  manager. i am hoping that i can use the top of that for models along with a new shelving unit once i find a descently priced. i am hoping to be able to barrow my friends digital camera or get one tommarrow or the best option find mine(who am i kidding its mia in this apt). so when it comes i will take pics asap, sorry about the delay for pick. i am going to start up a nother group build but i won't put a deadline on it so hopefully it will end up working better and longer than this one did.

Yeah, the PG GP01 brings parts for both modes. I also picked up the extra parts for both modes on eBay a while back. Some guys were selling the extra parts as "bash" kits.

I'd love to do a 1/144 Dendrobium and Meteor, but even with a house I don't think I'd have the room to display it properly. I'm still trying to make room for all my Master Grade and Perfect Grade kits and I have no idea where I'm going to put my 1/8 Corvette when that's done.

I'd like to do the 1/400 Meteor and the 1/550 Dendrobium for the smaller size. I got lucky and my brother found me a PG GP01F/b when he went to Japan earlier this year. It was a bit discounted plus the Yen was really cheap at that time so it came out to about $150. He had seen a 1/144 Dendrobium on an earlier trip, but I passed on it. Now I wish he had gotten it to sell on eBay. But I have to be selective with what I ask him to bring because of size and customs issues.

well that is exactly what i do for my airbrushing i use a cardboard box and go from there it works surprisingly well believe it or not!! just head to your nearest 7-11 gas station or grocery store and ask for the biggest box they have that is being thrown out.

well hopefully this thursday i will have the 1/144 meteor unit on the way in the mail i just have to get my paycheck and payback iou's and see what i have left. and if i have enough..... oh heck who am i kidding that is what paycheck advances are for. i will also have a 1/144 dendrobium I really can't wait for that challenge. though i hope to be in a house here soon so i will have the room for my model collection which has out grown the largest apartment in the area. gotta get to getting things ready for the game of life. ZIG ZEON!!!(yah i really couldn't think of anything else cool to say)

Arg! I've not finished my Turn A Gundam(s) for this GB because my spray area and booth are still not ready. So, I worked on a couple of other kits.
- I finished the Master Grade RX-78 GP01 I started before the GB. I wanted to try out some new tools and pen techniques so no paint just panel lined and some detailing with markers.
- I finished a Master Grade Qubeley Mk-II (the red and yellow one) for later painting. I'm thinking an oreage-red candy paint job.
- I did 3 SD Gundam kits I picked up during the famous Amazon sale just for fun. I'm debating whether to paint/marker or use the stickers. I never liked SD, but they've grown on me. So I picked up a few more on eBay. CUTE!
- This past weekend I finished the 1/60 scale "Real Detail" Strike Gundam. Not much detail on this kit and the proportions are a bit odd, so it's a bit disappointing. It does seem sturdy and has a lot of modding potential. Maybe a good project far in the future. They also make a version of this kit with all the weapons packs.

Let me know if you all want to see photos.

I'm tempted to just set up a cardboard box and open a window and start pushing paint through my airbrush!

Hey mustange, I was thinking the same thing about starting up other build. If you go ahead and start other one I will join up for sure. I have a boat load of kits to pick from, in fact I would build a few for the build.

well okay i don't know if anyone else is still on to the GB here but here is an update on my kits so far.
the Zeta 1/144 is completed as far as it can be for now i lost a part to the smaller rifle so that is not going to be built anytime soon. but the cannon is done. i can't get any pics up since my digital camera is mia in the apartment somewhere. i have been out of town so not much has happened on any other kits so far. i am hoping with the next paycheck of mine to buy the remaining two kits i need for my MAZ-18 ZZZ but i need to save money for the anime con that is coming up soon. well hopefully i will have my apartment cleaned up and will have found my camera, or will have barrowed one. I do hope others are still working on this build it is going to get real boring real fast without anyone else. i may start up a nother GB soon so keep an eye out.

Here's what I've gotten done so far:

-Creating some damage (swordwounds, bulletholes, etc.) on the shield.
-Creating some damage on the arms and shoulders.
-Painted shield and done full weathering on it.
-Painted all the parts for both arms.

Now I just have to drybrush the parts for the arms a bit then put a coat of matt clear over it and maybe some decals. Should turn out good.

Anyway. Here's a couple of pictures of the shield. The first one is of how the shield looked before I painted it, the second one is after painting + weathering.

Shield before paint + weathering.

Shield after paint + weathering.

This is my first time doing anything like this so it's something completely new to me. Any thoughs on my progress so far? Smile [:)]

glad to see people are still working away on their Gundams despite the deadline passing.  There's been some great stuff posted so far.

I'm in the process of moving so won't get a chance to work on mine for a while.  I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

OK, I've done some major progress during the week on my WWII Gundam. I finished adding all the damage and weathering on the shield and I put a matt clear coat to seal everything. End result? Very nice if I may say so myself, and taking in mind it's my first time doing damaging / weathering.

I'll try get some pictures up tomorrow.

I also primed all the parts for both arms. So now all I gotta do is sand them to get the surface smooth then add some paint on it all, then some weathering / damage. Then I'll start working on the legs and the torso.

ROTFLOLyou got that right mindless no one is keeping track after all it was supposed to end on the first but we just gotta keep building! welcome to the group chris! POWER OF THE GUNDAM OTAKU!!!!!

Well i know it has been a long time since i posted here i lost my isp because of finances but now have a laptop that has a wi-fi connecdtion so until i can afford to get a new isp i will just keep pirating off this connection as little as possible as to not get caught.

well i guess i should get on with my model progress i really havent done much i am just working still on saving up money to complete the ZZZ but i had a bit of a accident with it this evening. you see i have a bunch of stuff cause i am a pacrat so i stored it on top of the my comps monitor and then stood up and hit it with my head and it went flying off the back and crashing on the floor luckily i built the thing in such a weird way it just kind of fell apart and get this NOTHING BROKE!!!!! it was surprising to me also........well anyways i only really have made a little bit of progress on the tallgeese and that is only painting the hands and being entirely stumped on how to paint the shoulder armour without painting the shoulders since they have to beassembled and glued together on the shoudlers not seperate so that is a puzzle for a nother day. i have to get going to work. ttyl i will try and post some pics once i find my digital camera, and i will try to post as often as posible to. ttyl

Just thought I would join in on this one.. I have all but given my Gundam collection away to my friends kids in the US, and so today, I just felt like going shopping, and picked up my favourite subject. I got the 1/60 MG Force Impulse Gundam... I have built this design in all scales from 1/200 to now 1/60, and have either sold them as well as given them away.. I have basically built every suit from the Seed and Seed Destiny series, but they are sitting packed away at the momment..

I will post pics as I go.. Thats if you dont mind me joining in.. I havnt done any Gundam in a long time.. If you are looking for advice, you should be seeking out the services of F91-s if he is around. He is the man to talk to about anything Gundam...

Looks very good.
Currently I'm (well, me and my dad) working on a new hobby room and a spray booth for the airbrush. My models have shipped from HLJ about 2 weeks ago so I should have the models sometime this week or the next. We'll see what happens.

Mindless:

not really that much paint on the GuAIZ, just a rattlecan primer layer & then 2 thin coats of the main colors...

best of luck on the hobby room & sorry 4 the delayed response, school is killing me... viva la spring break !!!

Moonwoka:

that MS looks great, i'll have 2 check out ur link !

He couldn't get it this trip. :(   But he said he goes back in 2 weeks. I'll have to give him a list of some Master Grade kits just in case. I'm not sure if the Perfect Grade GP-01 is permanently discontinued or if it's going to be produced seasonally. I've seen many other BanDai Gundam kits marked as discontinued only to reappear months later in mass quantities. I really wish BanDai made PG water slide decals!!!

My GB Progress:
I hope the weather will continue to get warmer. I think I'll be able to get back to work my Turn A Gundam kits next week. Still a lot of gluing, puttying, and sanding to do.

I bought a couple of more glass display cabinets at Ikea. Not sure exactly where I'll put them. Either next to the current ones or in the corner.

moonwoka: Looks awsome. Never seen a GiNN that clean. Great job on it.

A Mejias: Yeah, as far as I know, the GP-01/Fb is discontinued and might be quite hard to get hold of, but if your brother could get that one for you, that would be awesome. And about if he is able to take it on the plane: I think it shouldn't be a problem. Thoes boxes are like 55x25x12cm (L x W x H) or something, and as far as I know, you are allowed to carry alot more hand luggage than that on a plane.Tongue [:P]

Anyway, a little update on my Gelgoog. Haven't worked on it that much but I drilled some holes tonight on the left shoulder with my newly invested Tamiya Pin Vise, and I can only say it's a wonderful tool. I'll look forward to using it more in the future. The holes I drilled on the left shoulder were drilled in an 'armor plate' that I have added on the shoulder, and in these holes I put four small bolts to, well, make it look like it's bolted on. Gundam GB 2005 - To March 1, 2006
Posted by A Mejias on Saturday, March 4, 2006 10:34 AM

My brother called me from Japan last night and said that the store near the hotel had one Perfect Grade GP-01/Fb left, but that it might be too big to bring on the plane. As far as I know they are discontinued, so I begged. I’ll find out next week…

Very nice! I really like that Mobile Suit design.

When you have access to a better camera reshoot and post them to show off your good work. Thumbs Up [tup]

Well, here they are. Since I'm not really adept in photography, pictures are rather noisy and some of them blurry. Anyway, they are considerably better than made with phone camera.

Link remains the same: http://moonwoka.netfirms.com/modeling/GiNN/images_ginn144.htm and contains 18 pictures. Here's some of them:

moonwoka: Don't worry about it. I think you exaggerated a bit when you said it looked like worse than some coal miners had used it. Personally, I think it looks awsome. I really like it. It added alot more depth into the model than before.

I got to get going too with my two models. Shock [:O]

Moonwaka: Your images are not viewable. Did you try a kneaded eraser or som "fun-tac" to pick up the excess pastels? Did you use the dry pastels or the oil pastels?

Moonwoka: The pictures aren't working for me. The link is broken.

A Mejias: I got both my kits now. They arrived last week on monday. I started working a bit on one of them (the Gelgoog). I added some armor plating on one of the shoulders and did some damage on it.

There is no way I'm going to make it in time and I'm not even finished with the hobby room. Me and my dad can get a bit overcreative at times and make stuff alot more complex than they really have to be. Tongue [:P]

Anyway. I'll post up some pictures later during the week of what I've done so far.

Ok, I made it! Barely, though. I really messed up things with weathering - tried pastels for the first time and forgot, that paint is matt, so instead of subtle weathering, my GiNN became dirtier than dozen coal miners put together. And removing pastel from that matt surface was not easy at all. Oh, well, I made damn dirty GiNN. Since I don't have camera of my own, I made several pictures with my Nokia - the evidence, that I completed my first Gundam universe model. My first sci-fi model in fact. And my first GB on time...Blush [:I]

http://moonwoka.netfirms.com/modeling/Images/Sci-Fi/GiNN_3.jpg

http://moonwoka.netfirms.com/modeling/Images/Sci-Fi/GiNN_4.jpg

Pardon for fuzzy photos, I'll try to update them as soon as possible. All in all it was enjoyable build, because kit is well engineered and well molded. "The only issue is that the butt of the machine gun's design manages to come in contact with the arms hence making it look like the rifle is pointed down when posed" (shamelessly copied from mahq.net GiNN's preview). It can be seen in photos. I am also quite pleased with painting as this is my first airbrush project.

P.S. I didn't add missile pods, since they are quite cumbersome and would only spoil aesthetics of GiNN's design.

Mindless: I think the cold weather is slowing everyone down. Brrr! There is no way I'll have my kits painted by the March 1st deadline. Sad [:(] I still have a lot of sanding and filling to do and I've barely started that due to busy schedual. I'll keep working on them and posting images even after the deadline though.

Which one of your kit came in?

Anyway.

I should get at least one of my models tomorrow (they were shipped as two packages), so then I will be very happy. Should also have the new hobby room done by next weekend or something.Smile [:)]
