Problem setting Futaba skysports 4YF to work with tamiya tiger I 1/16 full option

First off I don't know the specific radio nor the mechanism of the tank in question but I am assuming that the radio is an aero outfit which was supplied in mode 2. This equates to throttle and rudder on the Left stick and aileron with elevator on the Right stick. I also assume that the radio is not computerised (i.e doesn't have programmable mixers) and that steering of the tank is accomplished by differential drive to 2 motors each powering one of the track assemblies. I also am assuming that the forward reverse motion is controlled by a third motor. If I am well off the mark here then ignore me please or decribe the setup and I will try to help further. The speed controller responsible for forward/reverse motion must be plugged into the throttle socket on the receiver. This will be specified in the Futaba manual that accompanies the radio. If this is done and no one has reassigned the transmitter functions without swapping the ratchet mechanism (my computer radio is switchable between mode 1 and mode 2) there is no reason that the Left stick will not control the throttle. The Right stick would normally (again assuming aero radio) be driving 2 servos and not motors. The aileron socket on the receiver must be used and I would imagine that the steering would require a separate speed controller capable of handling 2 motors or indeed 2 controllers 1 for each motor with a Y lead to bring them together into the single aileron socket. You would be aiming for forward reverse motion on the non centreing left stick, steering control on the right stick and 1 free function on each stick for the other tank functions.
