The "Battle for More Shelving" Group Build
Posted by wing_nut on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 7:20 AM
This idea was toyed with over in the “Battle for Germany” GB and I have decided to open it to all.

We build and display, build and display, build and display. Regardless of scale there will come a time when you realize there just isn’t a place to put your latest creation.

The rules are simply

1. Starts now and it never ends
2. There is only one scale…1:1
3. All construction materials are accepted
4. By definition, this is already combined with all other GB’s
5. Workbenches are the only unacceptable entry since the completion of these is the reason that this GB exists in the first place and why rule #1 is necessary.
6. Above all…. DO NOT HAVE FUN. Building shelves bites! But since it facilitates the continued application of our real hobby… whether it fly’s, rolls or swims, more shelving is an unfortunate by-product of model building which is, once again, why we have rule #1.

Now get to work and keep a sharp eye open for the follow-up GB’s (which will, or may already be, run concurrently):

“The Battle for a Bigger House”
“The Battle of the Spouses”
“The Battle of the Divorce Lawyers” (this one will have an actuall end date but will vary with the participant)

There is a small badge available if you really think this is serious.Big Smile [:D]

Ooof...

I'm afraid any overt attempt at annexation in my house is doomed to failure. I am currently undergoing a strategy of 'slowly-slowly catchee monkey', with a quiet expansion, first through the crafts room, then onwards through the rest of the house. Unfortunately, things are about to become a lot more blatant when some 1/350 ships appear.

I got the green light from the wife (it's amazing what borrowing "her space" will do for ya Wink [;)]) now I just have to stop building models long enough to do it! Sad [:(]

BTW: Nice job on those shelves Marc. Are you coming by my way anytime soon? Could use a hand or two! Oh... and that TV would look nice in my family room too. Wink [;)]

Okay, my little shelf seems somewhat inadequate now.
I've just dry-fitted it together with no glue, don't breath, it might fall apart!

Well I’ll be dipped…you guys are (sort of) taking this seriously LOL. Ok so here my contribution to the build (Jay… tell me about feeling inadequate).

And since there are others that have a problem with GB’s getting out of hand and we are only in it for the badge…. Here is the small badge for those that want to take it “serious” and since… yes… in this case…. It is all about the badge.
