Well, it has been about 4 months since anyone posted to this thread, so I guess I'd better update my project.  It is the Academy 1/144 EC-121D College Eye, aka AWACS from the Viet Nam era.  I let this set for several months and then got into too much of a hurry to finish it so that I could move on to something else.  The seam filling leaves a lot to be desired, the gloss finish is a little too shiney and the whole thing is very rough in some areas.  Both Connies were built simultaneously. Comments welcome.

I have finally made some progress on my Academy 1/144 version of the Lockheed EC-121D Warning Star as used in the "College Eye" program.  This was the Viet Nam era precursor of today's E-3 AWACS.  I started one kit and very shortly it morphed into twins.  The second one will probably wind up being a J model basic MATS trash hauler.  Comments welcome.

I would like to join this GB with an Academy, 1/144, EC-121D, College Eye.  It is the Connie with the gawd awful radomes on her back and belly that was used as AWACS in Viet Nam.

Would you accept an entry that's already started if it's something I just started this month?  It was July '06 so it's in your time frame.

That would be my 1/48 Hase RF-4B.  It came with decals for a late-70's bird and the all-black retirement scheme and I'm still trying to figure out which one to do.  I can't find good pics of the black version, and I like the sharper "chisel nose" on the older one, plus I think the retirement bird may have had the longer 'burner cans of the F-4J retrofitted.  The kit comes with those but I would like to maintain the -B look, even with thick wings.

OTOH, black jets are just way cool.

Failing that, I also have a minicraft 1/144 kit of the C-54 derivative flown by the USCG on iceberg patrols and SAR missions before they got their Hercs.  I forget the designation but it has a pretty cool color scheme.

I may run out of time to get it done as I am starting school in less than a month, but I do get a whole month off in the winter...

I took a look at the stash and I have both the OV-10 Bronco in 1/48 and the O-2 Skymaster (not the O-1 birddog) from Testors There both easy builds so I think I will enter the pair as my build
