Artillery Position
Posted by jthurston on Monday, November 27, 2006 7:22 AM

OK, I need to change something. I put the SdKfz 250 project on hold in favor of a larger dio, of an SdKfz 11 resupplying a Flak 37 emplacement.

Here are the particulars:

vehicles:

SdKfz 11 Leichte Zugkraftwagen halftrack (the new(er) AFV Club kit that I picked up for $16 in Taiwan)

Horch 1A (Tamiya) or Horch 15 (Italeri)

Possibly Esci's old horse-drawn supply wagon. Undecided at the moment on this.

Flak 36/37 (the old Tamiya kit)

Dio is about 75% complete, pics forthcoming. Will use figures from Dragon, Tamiya, Verlinden, just about everyone who produces figures suitable for a German artillery dio set in spring / early summer 1942. Much of the groundwork is scratched, but I am making extensive use of Kancali's cobblestone sections, stone walls and rubble molds. There is one building ruin, which began life as one of MiniArt's kits (I won't do that again!).

Thanks

Can I join? I've done this one: http://www.finescale.com/FSM/CS/forums/653016/ShowPost.aspx and I'm going to do one with a Late Tiger and a Jagdpanther standing next to each other, commanders conferring.
On the bench: Tamiya 1/48 Tiger I: Tamiya 1/48 Jagdpanther: Skybow 1/48 Tiger I Late:

Ya, my friend's camera is a bit too flash happy, and when we turned it off, the pics were too dark. I tryed to join the 1/72 German Armor GB with "The Reich Moves On", but they said dios weren't allowed (or something).

Looking good, although it may just be the camera, but some of them look too bright. There is a 1/72 German Armour GB in at the moment and I'm in that. Many people do dios in 1/72.

There's no other German Dios GB's out there, so I still don't get it. Anywho, some pics on how I'm gonna set my dios up (as I said, the Panther one is almost done):

"Cruching Soldier, Advancing Panther":

           The "armament corner".

"The Reich Moves On":

         The Pak 40.

                                                                                                                The Flakvierling in tow.

And my little brother!!!(Please tilt head to the left, as ImageShack wouldn't let me rotate it!!!!)

OK, put me down 60% in. Your not getting many people because there is always an overflow of German GB's. Give it a month or so, check if theres another German Dio GB (if so wait longer) then try again.

If it's from another GB, no problem. I'll have you guys all updated. If it's started, thats not a problem either, as the my Panther dio was started last year (it's almost done), and the 1/72 vehicles were already assembled and mostly painted before the build started.

I'll participate.  I sort of allready started, but it's not finished yet:

http://finescale.com/FSM/CS/forums/653492/ShowPost.aspx

Can I still be in it, or am I disqualified?  I still need to finish up some details and paint a few other things.

If this cannot be accepted (because it was allready started) then I might start another one.

Posted by rudy_102 on Sunday, July 30, 2006 6:44 PM

In order to celebrate my 100th post, I have cooked up a group build idea: German Dioramas!!!!!!!  Anything, as long as it has something German in it, be it a car, plane, tank or figure. Any scales and additions welcome. I'll accept any badge ideas or completed ones.

Participants:

Me: "Crouching Soldier, Advancing Panther": A 1/48 Panther G moving onwards surrounded by Panzergrenadiers and trees, with a makeshift armament corner made from a brick ruin All plastic from Tamiya. & "The Reich Moves On": A 1/72 King Tiger Ausf. B leads an Opel Blitz towing a Flakvierling somewhere on the Eastern front. A Pak 40 provides covering fire. Tank Revell AG, Blitz and the German guns from Italeri. & ???Fw-190 dio???

ArmorMaster: "Sniper!!!!:1/35 Panzergrenadiers, with one shot by a sniper lying on the road in front of a ruined brick building. A medic is peeking out from behind the ruin, giving directions to the wounded troop. A counter sniper is also peeking out from the other end, looking for the Ivan that hit his friend.

Will7813(??): Elefant diorama.

FingersEddie: Sturmgeshutz III diorama.

NikToo: Tiger I Early on the move (done). & Tiger I Late and Jagdpanther (commanders conferring).

jhurston: SdKfz 11 Leichte Zugkraftwagen halftrack (the new(er) AFV Club kit that I picked up for $16 in Taiwan)Horch 1A (Tamiya) or Horch 15 (Italeri)Possibly Esci's old horse-drawn supply wagon. Undecided at the moment on this.Flak 36/37 (the old Tamiya kit)Dio is about 75% complete, pics forthcoming. Will use figures from Dragon, Tamiya, Verlinden, just about everyone who produces figures suitable for a German artillery dio set in spring / early summer 1942.
