College Student GB Feeler
Posted by MortarMagnet on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 1:15 AM
I'm probing to determine if there is enough interest to start a college student GB.  I'm thinking Fall Semester, Sept. 1 to Dec.20, cheap kits, and OOB.  The other idea, same time, anything goes.  Approved ages, 18-25.  Anyone think this will work?  I'm open to suggestions, I'd like to see something like this happen.

College student group Build i'm in!!! This is a Great Idea!!! What about some sort of budget requirement? Could add a cool twist on things. Also how bout this for a badge? I'll obviously clean it up a little and resize it but how do you like the concept?

I was thinking about keeping the kit under $20.  That still leaves a lot to pick from.  I'll probably build a Revell A/C.

Edit:  If two more announce interest, I'll really start one.

I'm definately in Mortar....I have no idea what I'll build but I'm definately in.  Too bad I start classes next wednesday 8/23

Things could be worse. Suppose your errors were counted and published every day, like those of a baseball player. Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off... the right pitch will come, but when it does, be prepared to run the bases.

That's the basic idea of what I was going for.  You know there's little time and money, that's the challenge.  The poor fellos in dorms will have it the worst.  I'd love to see what some people can turn out with such limited resources.

Sophomore year i did a model in the dorms. P-51d OOB build used silver testers from a rattle can for the finnish. 3 months later got an 18 dollar fine to put in new blue carpet cuz of the over spray.

I'm working on a badge...I think it will be appropriate and maybe get a chuckle or two.  I think I'll combine the your badge and mine.  I'll post it soon.

One more person and I'll launch this thing.

That's why they have so many showers in the dorm, right?

This seems interesting. Count me in if this build becomes official. I have an old Monogram kit in my stash, It’s a "Bf 109 G". I'll build it OOB.

Sorry guys, I've been really busy at work and trying to cram my regular life into a weekend.  I haven't had time to work on the badge, so we'll just go ahead with the one we already have.  I'll launch this since we have enough people.
