Gundam Group Build #2 in 2006
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, August 25, 2006 12:49 AM
Yes it is Gundam Group Build #2. the other one ended up dying out when the deadline hit and i said i would start a new one, so here it is.
The rules are as follows:
1.as long as it is gundam it is allowed.
2.already started kits are okay
3.kits from other Gundam GB's are also Allowed
4.there is no age restriction (all are welcome)
5.when you are done feel free to start another kit
6.there is no deadline (but lets not slack)
7.let me know of any change in kits that are being built so that i may update as needed also let me know what scale and grade your kit is.
8. if you want to chop, damage or kitbash it is all okay, as long as it is gundam

well that is all for the moment if you have an idea for the group build badge lets hear it i don't have the software to make one so i leave it up to you all. i am also kinda new here so i haven't figured everything out yet, so please be patient.

any questions or anything feel free to post it here or email me at Mustangs102@yahoo.com

last time i didn't even finish with the ground type due to a ton of crap i had to do for work and then warhammer 40k minis.

i guess you can sign me up for now as i am still running a debate on the custom paint job for a 1/144 HGUC mk.II, and had finished cutting the parts off of a MG Ez8 like 2 months ago.  eventually i will get to them.

yay i am so excited the kits that i ordered so i can complete the ZZZ just arrived today. i will have pictures up in the morning of them (gotta get some sleep before work!!!). i will say the 1/144 meteor kit is quite large and the 1/550 dendrobium is not quite as large as i thought it would be but eh who cares they are sweet.

hey A Mejias what grade are your Turn A's so i can post that.

ya so like i am runnig low on space for my photobucket so i had to limit my pictures for right now that i put up there but i got a pic of the boxes of the Meteor and the Dendrobium up on my photo bucket. i am going to end up building the kits as they are intended except for the freedon since i already have the kit i will eventually use the freedom in a chop or battle damage it maybe. i will take photos and as i go if you all might be able to help me figure out how i can connect the two together and then still make it attachable to the ZZZ. if the clamps work on the dendrobium i think i might switch the dragons out for those and see from there. so come on guys how are the kits progressing? lets see some pics and get some updates!!!

try and get people to join the GB. i will be posting on var. boards to get people to join but we will see.
hope to hear from you all

Hey everybody,

I ran across this group build on 4chan and thought I would join you guys.  I am getting ready to build a 1/144 Rick Dom so I'd like to take part in the group build if thats cool with everyone.  It's been a awhile since I picked up the ol paintbrush.

I decided to start off with a 1/144 ZAKU II instead of the DOM.  I am waiting on some resin parts to come in for the DOM so I will do that one next.  I wish I could get some better hands for the ZAKU.  I hate the way the plastic molded hands look.  As for the DOM it actually is a 1/144 DOMTROPEN from Stardust memory.  I plan on picking up a 1/100 Rick DOM from HLJ soon though.  Not sure yet how or if I will modify the ZAKU or DOM.  I will snap some pic's as soon as I get started.  I will probably prep the pieces this weekend but that is all I will get done since I have some Air Force buddies coming in.  Time to kick back drink some brew and walk down memory lane again!

Well I got the Zaku all washed up so next step will be to start on the feet.  That will happen on Monday after the out of town guests leave.  I will post some pics once I get the legs together.

at the moment I'm doing about three projects at the same time
there's battle damaged zaku II diorama with either city street background or country farm house background

then there are zaku F2 with one being built as ground special while the other one is being built as Char Custom. Both features rotating waist as well as minor exterior modifications.

and then my usual on and off side pojects - scratching building, house and other sorts in between for diorama use
people living in glass colonies shouldn't throw nuclear stones.

Well I didn't get as much done today as I wanted but I did get one leg test fitted along with a little internal gluing and clean up.  I will continue to work on the legs this week.  Sanding the rubber type joint parts sucks out loud.  I had forgotten that this scale kit had those type of rubber joints.

I'll have to figure out posting images later.

Okay I created a photobucket site so here are two pics from the workbench.  All the stuff that was piled on the bench went to the floor so that's why it looks so clean.Smile [:)]

here are the pics:

okay for those of you who are new to the group and wernt in the previous build here are a few pics of what the MAZ-18 ZZZ(Triple Zeta) Sentinel Ver. Custom unit is.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y40/mustangs102/DSC00063.jpg

keep in mind this kit is still even after all the modification is still fully transformable. if you check out my photobucket it has some more pictures of the process that it took to get there.

i am currently building the meteor unit and am wondering if it is going to be possible to combine it with the 1/550th dendrobium and still make it work witht the ZZZ. if you all have any information please let me know cause i don't know if it can be done. the photos should be up here soon. once i get my computer to work. here are a few  pics of what i have so far done on the Meteor. and one comparing it to a 1/144 Gundam Deathsythe. will post further pics as progress is completed.

I am really hating the lack of detail on this Zaku.  I have to rework where the tubing for the legs plugs into the thigh and lower leg.  This isn't the HGUC Zaku, it is from the 8th MS Team combo box.  I ordered a HGUC 1/144 Powered GM along with a Dom.  I am going to continue work on the Zaku until I get pissed enough to pitch it.

Malich now you have me scared of my 8th MS Team Zaku Black Eye [B)], guess I will be building my HGUC one. I just ordered the Powered GM also, which Dom type did you order?

No progress for me right now, trying to finish up a 1/8 resin Rei from Evangelion.

I bought the new 1/144 HGUC Powered GM and the Dom/Rick Dom.  I had ordered the B-Club hands for the kit too but I decided to drop the hands since the ones that come with the kit look almost identical to the aftermarket parts.

If the it's the 8th MS Team Set that includes the RX-79 and MS-06J in 1/144 scale then yep the kit lacks a bit in detail.  It's a nice kit to just throw together to practice on.  I will continue to work at it like I said, until I get so furious that I will just skip it down the freakin street!!! frog foot:  you have any photos of the rei i would like to see them if i could.

and so malich:   you gonna battle scar the Zaku after the trip down concrete lane? see what real damage looks like. i have done that to my kits before i know it is kinda disrespect but oh well it makes for some really interesting effects.

I airbrushed the skin and white so far. Still need to airbrush the rest of the dress and the shoes. Hair still needs a another coat. And I am not looking forward to painting the eyes very much.

Okay, I am done with the Zaku.  Not done as in finished but I just can't take it anymore.

So my 1/144 HGUC Dom should be here by Monday or Tuesday.  I may do some testing on the zaku's feet but that will be the last of the work done on it.  So scratch one Zaku and add the Dom.

Thanks,

Rich
