Secret Santa- WWII Aviation GB

I am alomost done, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I had a few day over the holiday and had a chance to give several hours to the the Corsair I received as my secret santa gift.  I was able to do a little weathering thanks to the techniques I learned from Swannys video.  I also masked my canopy and painted my bird.  Everything looks good, except that I have some sticky residue from the tape and some acrylic blue on the canopy.  Can anyone tell me the best way to clean that up without having to start over on the canopy?  Thanks in advance for the help.

Just lurking around and reading this thread.  All I can say is WOW. Each and every one has build a terrific model.  You people are talented.  Talk about eye popping.  Thumbs up .

One last look at the C-47 on it's base with the figures added. Thanks GulfstremV for the kit, it was a fun build.

Just in time for this years SSGB! LOL 

Ok finally done. Here is the final installment of my second kit for last years SSGB.

Kit went together ok. Decals were not good though.

I used decals from the stash and the markings are fictional.

Cockpit is spartan. I really had to fight off the AMS to build it OOB.

Paint is MM enamels, flat is Polyscale.

After looking at this one next to a P-47 I realized just how big this airplane was. A real beast.

A real beast of a plane and a beast of a kit. I don't know just how much AM stuff is out there for this kit but there is plenty of room for it.

Beuatiful build, my friend!  I have to say, whenever I see that particular a/c, I have to wonder what kind of beating the sirframe took when they opened up with that monster of a cannon.  I'll bet it shoved the a/c backwards from recoil!

It's a different version of the Hs192. I got the B2 and yours is either the B1 or the B3 (I don't remember) beeing the main difference the "belly-gun".

Hey Avus, here is my copy of the Hs129. I believe it is a Monogram kit and I built it a few years ago. Hope you enjoy.

Steve, it's a Hasegawa kit and I added Eduard's photoetch, mainly in the "office" so you can't see it anymore, but I have picture to prove it!

Thanks Avus and Wing-Nut.  am still fiddeling with the figures and base and just having fun with it at this stage. If I get it finished soon I will post the final look of it.

You really can immagine some "Screaming Eagles" jumping out of it, looking at the first picture.

I finished my C-47 a few months ago and have been playing around with the figures and a Dio base for it. The base is almost finished and I will post photos of it when finished. Until then I am going to post these photos of the plane, I made some changes since these. I want to thank GulfstreamV for this kit, it's a gem of the Monogram stable and an great kit with a lot of possibilities. Kinda like their B-17's. I felt I needed to post it now as the 08 build deadline is tomorrow and want to have this in the bag. I really enjoyed this GB and all the fun that came with it and looking forward to this years. Thanks to Jon for hosting this great idea that really shows what the modelling community is all about. God bless ya Jon.

This build was OOB and it went together well except for the wing to fuselage joint which looked like the grand canyon. Any building flaws were all of my own making, I pushed the windscreen in too far and it melted a little( too much glue ). The big problem was the decals that shattered into hundreds of pieces when they hit the water. I fought with them to get some to look ok but lost most of them. I made the yellow decals myself to represent a D-Day bird as the kit decals were grey. I painted the model with MM enamels and the invasion stripes are also painted. The wings were simple but the fuselage was a test of skills and patients. n the end it was worth the headache. Hope you guy;s enjoy this one and any comments and critizesm welcome.

We are all waiting with high anticipation!  Last Christmas it was great to know that I was going to have a gift under the tree that I had no idea what it was, and one that even my wife and daughter were anxoius to see what I got.
