I'd like to take part. Just announcing this will be my first group build. Propeller [8-] Subs are pretty quick builds, but I need a little time to go pick one up. What are the exact rules and regulations, start and end dates? I didn't want to take part in a big fancy GB with too many experienced modelers, in case my work turns out bad, so this is perfect. Now a GB is building a model within a time period about a certain subject and posting pics of it on the end date right?

You join any group build your intereste din. Build for fun. My first airplane, and airbrushing was in the same GB. It didnt turn out as well as everyone elses but it was fun. GBS also let you work together to help each other.

I no specific dates yet or even rules.....Just checking to see if there was an interest.

 We're currently at 4 people

Ben, dont worry as long as you have me in here you wont be the worse ;)  Gb are a great way of learning from others, also focuses your builds, sparks new ideas and techniques to try... you also get to see what others too, there is a LOT to be learned! last sub I built was close to 30 years ago.... :)

I only have maybe 15 models built since I started, I wouldn't call yourself the worst. Sigh [sigh] I just hope we get enough people to get it started...Confused [%-)]

By the way, Does an Italeri S.L.C. 200 Maiale two-man sub count as a full submarine?

Well, I'm more than interested, having 2 subs in my stash and one that I still got to go pick up at the LHS.

However, I won't be able to start till probably the end of the year, having too many ongoing projects at this time (amongst them a wooden model).  Of course if this GB would have a very long running time you could count me in (thinking of making a harbour dio with the sub that I need to pick up).

It carries a crew and it dives Big Smile [:D]

After Market details.....They will be allowed but not mandatory

AM = "after market"  Additional items that you can purchase from third party vendors to replace and/or enhance your kit. If you build without AM additions, then it is OOB (out of the box).

Some examples include resin parts (wheels, cockpit, bays) and photoetch details (PE); these AMs also require additional and more advanced techniques.

You can also replace/add decals, not sure if decals are considered "after market" in this context, as many times you need to purchase decals to complete some older kits in which the decals have deterioriated to uselessness.

Hope this helps!

Alright...So Waste Land are we gonna do this? I think we still need a few more people if i'm correct...And I'm also assuming the Italeri S.L.C 200 counts as a sub, because as Dan said, it carries a crew and it dives! Big Smile [:D]

Lemme work up a thread for the offical build and we'll get it started and more can join as we go.

I'm in the middle of changing my jeep from being covered in mud to sparkling clean for a date. So I'll fix it up when I'm done. :-)

I read this, and could be interested if the dates were fitting to my personal needs. When will this build end? And just what are it's limitations? I was thinking of something very odd, or a U-boat. But still cannot see it being done before June 08, and would really like it to go till August 08.

Awesome...Now I suspect that we ARE doing this build, since you've got a sub in your list?
