Mine is the Italeri 1/72 version which is a re-release of the earlier esci kit.  Actually it is a combination of two kits.  Esci released the Quad and the 25 pdr seperately but Italeri combined them into one kit.

dupes:  No gun in the Tamiya offeringDisapprove [V].  I've been fond of these old kits for $$$ reasons and I still consider myself somewhat of a newbie to modeling.  I experiment so much, I hate to spend big bucks on the kits.  Besides, my wish list is so long, the vendors are sure to have something I want...just need to be patient and wait for the contests...Wink [;)]

I just sent you a PM too...

That thing has a very large a...rear end. Love what you do with these ancient Tamiya kits, man. It doesn't come with the 25lb gun, does it? Or are you doing a different manufacturer Razordws?

It's an old Tamiya kit I picked up from a vendor at Nationals last year.  It's a British/ Canadian  4 x4 Quad Gun Tractor, I don't even think Tamiya makes it anymore (circa 1975).  It's a nice little kit and a quick build.  I try to build rubber tire wheels versus road wheels when I can.

Thanks for the comment on the weathering.  I spent a lot of time on the engine compartment and underside too.  This wasn't a project for WitD GB but the subject is appropriate, I don't think Hermesminiatures would mind...here's a few more pic's:

Wow, there have been some really great builds posted here.  Nice work everyone. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Well mine was getting pretty close and I had high hopes of getting it done but I just haven't had much bench time lately.  Here is a pic in its current state.  Just a few more pieces to add and then some decals and weathering but I won't have a chance to get to it soon so I'll have to surrender my badge.  Thanks for the GB everyone.

Unfortunately I've had no modelling time whatsoever this last week, so I havn't had time to weather the BMW R/75 w/ Sidecar as much as I originally wanted. Since I won't get use of a camera till this weekend and the GB ends tomorrow, I'm gonna have to call 'er done as is:

and that MM paint jar comparison:

Can I still collect my badge?

Spitfire Mk IXc "ZX-6" of Polish Fighting Team known as "Skalski's Circus" attached to the 145th RAF Squadron. A dozen of Polish Fighter pilots established a small unit with a highest score level  within RAF and US squadrons in Africa during this time. They flew 6 aircrafts Mk IXc while the rest of 145 use Vb. Their role was to cover other activities from German fighters. After this campaing Skalski became Squadron Leader of 601 and took action in Malta and later in Italy.

This is a Hasegawa 1/48with some modifications including:

- cawling changes

- small air inlet

- cannon buldges

- wing root buldges

That's okay...heck, it's my GB and I didn't even have time to finish anything. Ashamed [*^_^*]

Hopefully we can do a War in the Desert II next year, there have been lots of great builds here!

Hermes, regretfully I will not be able to submit anything for this GB. Ashamed [*^_^*]  I've barely started the M4A1.  I was thinking of switching and doing a quick build of the Academy M3A1 Stuart, but I'm booked this weekend with family stuff. Sigh [sigh]  It was fun participating when I could and seeing all the great builds that have been posted!  I'll probably save that M4A1 for the upcoming War in the Desert II! hehe...wishful thinking?

I have pretty much finished my Semovente L6/45. Here are pictures of it and the base that I am working on to display it. The figures and vehicle are not attached to it as of yet and I might be adding another figure to complete the Semovente's crew of 3. This scene would be in Tunisia. As this type of Semovente didn't have machine guns the crew carried small arms for close defense. The crew here is chatting with an infantry Lt while awaiting orders with a Breda 20mm positioned on the other side of the stone wall. As you can see I have alot of work to go on the base and getting everything weathered properly. The two armor figures are from Model Victoria (tank crew at rest), the infantry officer from Hornet, both the Semovente and Breda 20mm are from Criel Models.

OK...still need some gear on the tank, including a parachute wrapping the turret, and one more British Desert Rat figure, but this is a done as it is going to get by the end of this GB

Tamiya vintage Lee kit (eBay purchase) with bad decals that silvered (tips appreciated) immediately upon placement.  Another American tanker leftover from a Stuart kit and Brit officer from an Italieri (?) kit.

Obviously I do not live anywhere near a desert, as you can see the trees in my yard in some of the shots.

Comments and criticism appreciated on this scene from the film "Sahara."

Thanks alot Darson, Rick, Brews, Dupes & Scott!

Dupes: The kit is an ancient Tamiya one from the 70's. In the box was just the bike, the sidecar and four figures (all of which in winter parkas so I couldn't use them!Angry [:(!])

but she's not done yet guys! I still havta weather 'er!

The road wheels on the Sherman were hard rubber.  I use a very dark grey rather than black.

Having done this kit as part of my final diorama for this GB (to be posted soon), I can tell you that the paint detail you put on this piece is amazing.  GJ!

Quick question on the Sherman as I have a kit I plan to build in the near future...

Should the road wheels be black rather than the base color?  Are they hard rubber (which would be black) or metal (thesame color as the base color of the tank)?  Either way, nice job on the Sherman.

Oooh, nifty bike! That shot next to the MM jar is pretty interesting. Cool [8D] Is that a standalone kit, or did it come with something else?

Amazing flurry of activity here as the deadline nears...Wink [;)]

Beautiful work Chris and lovely photography as well.  You really don't realise just how small the bike is until you see it next to the jar of paint.  Great job Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup].

After a very productive weekend, I've got all the assembly and painting done on the BMW R75, and it now awaits weathering. Here she is:

And a shot for size comparison, next to a jar of MM paint:
