**Official** junior modeller group build thread!
Posted by jadgpanther302 on Thursday, May 29, 2008 4:26 PM

Jmart suggested too me that   for every junior modelor who compltetes a kit an adult donates a kit too you. Junior modellors, how does that sound.

All right this is for junior modellers who are under the age of eighteen as of May 29, 2008.

So for rules I think all models that.

kits that are under a 25% completion rate.

dios included.

The running time is 3 months.

May 29 to september first

you can do as many as you want so for now i need a badge, can anyone make one?

Please join

Paul

For the badge, is there anything in particular you would like on it? Any ideas floatin' around?

This sounds like a sweet GB! I'm 15, so sign me up. I'm about 85% done with my p-47, but when I'm done, I'm building a Hasegawa Willys jeep for a dio with the Jug and a AM Avenger.  Put me down for the Avenger and the jeep if you want.

We also need to sign up some old timers to give us more models, JadgpantherWink [;)]. Oh, and any reason for the odd time period?  I suggest lenghtening it my another month maybe. Just my My 2 cents [2c]

If I choose the Dragon 1/35 Hohenstaufen division soldiers, which is about 10% in the build, is it ok if I miss one figure?   If that's ok, I'm certainly in..

Here's some of the stuff I built for the 3 I was in a while back:

Deleted my finished pics of that one unfortunately.

And thisisthe last model kit I finished while I was still a junior:

Bumps?! Bumps?! of course we need bumps.  I'm changing too (sorry, sorry) i picked up Tamiya's M5A1 this morning, and decided it would be the perfect kit to do extensive scratch building on, including (but not limited to) removed fenders, field applied turret basket, and partial interior.  Sorry for the last minute change, but i think this is gonna be one kick butt stuart.

Well, I'm in,  I'll build something a bit special, so it'll be SS Ammla, converted from the Trumpy Jermiah O'Brien kit.

Well I've been going crazy the last couple days trying to think of a badge idea but alas, I've came up with nothing. I just can't seem to think of something that says "Junior Modelers", you know? If anybody's got any ideas that would be great!

On a side note, I'll be building Tamiya's Challenger 1 Mk.3 (in 1/35 scale).

This is the closest I've came, but I still don't get the whole "junior Modeler" feel from it. Opinions?

(of course text would be added later.)

My daughter is 7 so she isn't online herself....but she has been looking for a new model to do since she finished her Fire Pumper.

Maybe it's time to take her down to the LHS and find a new project for the build....
