If it is an acceptable subject, I was just about to get started on a WW2 US Army Class 325 fire engine.

I'm using Italeri's 1/35 GMC 2 1/2 ton truck modified into a Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton truck for the cab and chassis. Lots of scratchbuilding for the body and pump.

If this works I'll set it aside for a few more days.

I wish I could start on my Ford T Lorry, but I still have to go to my local hobby shop and order it.Boohoo [BH] But I guess it's not so bad, since I'll probably end up buying a new model or so and some paints, and some weathering supplies.

Banged Head [banghead] I also have to go buy a bottle of Future, I forgot last time I was at the store.

Thank goodness this GB doesn't end untill 1/15/09.

Panzerguy

Put me in for the Polish version of the FIAT 508 pickup. This is a 1/35th scale vacuform and resin kit by S Model.  I might add the Bofors 37mm ATG by Tom's to it and some figures. The Poles license built this vehicle in many forms, its a neat little utility truck.

Mike sorry but it can't have the Bofors to qualify for this build. It could be carrying the ammo for the Bofors.

Panzerguy,

Then scratch the Bofors, that's a separate kit anyway.

Last week I was on a business trip and started the kit by cutting the pieces away from the vacuform sheet.

Got a start last night, I had to remove many of the louvers from the sides of the hood and used some plastic sheet to fill in the gun ring. Its starting to look more like a 1 1/2 ton chevrolet.

I'll get some pics when I get the cab together.

Panzerguy,

All I did was the rough cutting away from the vacuform sheets just to occupy myself in the hotel at night. No assembly was done. I was afraid that a partial assembly would have been crushed by the baggage handlers. My carry on bag was already loaded. Just a little dry fitting to see how it would look. Not a lick of glue used.

Ok, here we go with the Revell Germany 1/72 Biber. This is a bridge-laying tank based on the Leopard I hull and running gear, in use with  Canada, Germany, and a number of other European countries. The Revell Germany kit is the only injection-moulded model available at the moment, though I believe that there is a resin conversion kit in 1/35.

While this build will be largely OOB, I hope to modify the bridge and its launching mechanism so that it becomes, if not a working model, at least a positionable one. A not insignificant reason for this is that, with the bridge deployed, it takes up rather a lot of shelf space!

Here, to start with, are the traditional sprue shots. The first one is the standard lower hull and running gear from the Revell Germany 1/72 Leopard :

Note the 1/72 Sherman for scale.

Here are the extra parts provided for the bridge:

I'l be starting construction some time in the next few days.

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi all. Finished my winged wonder and now onto the Famo. Luckily i managed to get a good few hours on it today. So far all i can say is good stuff about this kit. Zero flash, sink marks, Excellent fit. What more does a man require. The Aber set on the other hand....The brass itself is excellent, the only downside is the instructions. Eduard they most definately aint.

Any hoo, i started on the engine. You get the option of displaying it and having the bonnet (Hood for you in the US) shut. I chose to have the lot open so i needed to give the motor a bit of lovin, courtesy of Aber and some scratching.

Next job (I havent followed the instructions yet) was the bulkhead. This was just a very bland flat panel. I found a few good refs. One of them was Nuts and Bolts 'Famo'. An excellent book, go out and buy it if you love Famo's. I was well chuffed with the result. The Aber stuff performed excellently. I scratched the 'Tyre air supply and pressure governor' (The thing with the pipes coming out of it on the right hand side of the Bulkhead.

Well thats it for this installment. Ive started half a dozen other things but they need improving before i post them.

Hope you like.

This is the back of the bulkhead. The dash has been readied for the PR dashboard and film rears.

A couple of PE clasps for the track splitting tools?

Lovely mesh insert for the Radiator. In the background you can see the wheels are in the process of being painted.

and what about this fab badge,

I love this added bolt head detail. Any hoos, thats it for this installment, More soon.
