Hey Fellow Modelers,

This is a groupbuild for vehicles that took part in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom (the Gulf Wars). The dates will run from August 2, 2008 to February 28, 2009. 4.You must complete your build before a badge can be awarded.

5.Multiple entries are not only allowed but encouraged!

6.Crossovers are fine with me.

7.Your entry must be an aircraft, or form of armor.

8.Your entry MUST have taken part in the combat that took place between Iraqi and Coalition forces in either the first Gulf War, in 1990-91. Or in the second, from 2003-present.

Sounds good, I'll put you both on the list.

Oh, and James, are you sure Tamiya's Abrams is 1/48? 35269 is the number for their 1/35 Abrams kitConfused [%-)]

The things I do to myself.....but since I have until February, count me in.

Was about to start the Trumpeter C1 Ariete Up-Armored, actually washed the sprues last night, but I'm sure I can delay that until August.

Will be something different to the usual suspects that appear in ODS/OIF builds.

And just to fit inBig Smile [:D] might do a Tamiya M1A2 as and A1 + Echelon decals. (although my last 2 Tamiya M1s ended up in the trash can)

Hay count me in with a Academy 1/35 OIF M2A2 Bradley conversion. It will look much like your badge cover but not like my frist build of the same subject, it will be correct this time and I'll build it as a troop carrer.

Sounds good guys, you're all on the list.

GA.modelmaker- sounds good, but what scale and manufacturer are your kits? and yes, as far as I know the Chaparral WAS used in ODS, but I'm not so sure about OIF, anyway you can enter it if you like.

John- Really looking forward to your Up-armored Ariete! I'm heavily considering buying one.

Vince- Looking forward to what you do with your Bradley this time 'round! If it was half as good as the last one I'm sure we'll all be blown awayCool [8D].

Thanks GA.Modelmaker, and yes, I saw the M-270 but I wasn't sure if you wanted it on the list or not, it's on there now though.

I'm also looking forward to it, will be the first Trumpeter kit I've built. The quality of the plastic looks great on the sprues, no flash that I can see. Plastic is a bit soft I think but August will reveal all!

Only problem is reference photos, I've only found one decent high res image at prime-portal for the up-armoured version.

Perhaps members who served over there have images or more info. Will post something in the armour thread.

I just want to let everyone know that I'm leaving to go to the Cottage tomorrow morning, and I probably won't be able to get back on here till somewhere around the 16th. (it depends though, I don't know if the laptop will get internet up thereConfused [%-)]) But I'll try and chime in to update the list and stuff when I can.

Townsy - I may be overstretching myself in the GB arena, but I'd realllllly like to throw my hat in the ring on this one! Too cool! Wink [;)]

Put me down as a "?" as to what I'm building, but I've got an M1A1, a Challenger II, an M113A3 ODS, an M2A2 Bradley ODS, a Harrier with the right markings, an F-15E with the right markings, etc. etc. etc...Big Smile [:D]

Guess I can pop my GB cherry with a Tamiya 1/35th M577 Command Post track from Desert Storm.  Is this a static display or are dioramas ok?

Hey Guys,

Hellcat Man: I'm gonna have to say no to the Huey, because as is stated in the rules of Cold War that the subject can't have served in any shooting conflicts, more specifically not in the Gulf War, sorry. However yes you can enter your 101st Airborne figure set, but as long as it's not for the Huey...

Dupes: I hear ya, I'm afraid I'm starting to do the same thing, but that is one sweet lineup of kits you got there!

Paul: Yep, sounds good, I'll put you on the list.

Hans: Sounds good as well, you're now on the list. And yep, Dio's are allowed.
