Leopard camo progress pics..

Ok I went ahead and threw the brown on it and I must say that I am proud of the results ! For my first camo I think I did pretty well. Thanks for all the suggestions from y'all, if it had not been for the group here I would have probally skipped the camo so I would'nt mess the kit up.

It's coming along really well Chris. I must confess, your color sure looks brown on my monitor, but it's looking okay so far. Keep after it.

Peter- Actually thats the black coloring, brown has'nt made it on it yet. Like I said I thought I may have gotten backwards with the color order. I used Model Master enamels and so far it is just flat black and medium green. Don't really have access to any specific colors like the nato ones. The base could be showing through here and there. There is some touching up I need to do like the underside of the turret next to the barrel where I forgot to continue it under it.

Dwight- It is a great kit. I have had no fit problems what so ever and the detail is amazing. This is the best kit I have done especially for the money, only spent $8 for it and have seen it for $55 since then.

Looks pretty darn good so far.

I have yet to try the Silly Putty method but may have to try it out after seeing your results.

Not too bad at all Chris, much better than my first attempt at camo anyway.

Is it the photos, or is the base green showing through the Brown in a few places? The brown is a strong colour and is painted solid on the real thing; Therefore the lighter base coat shouldn't show through on the model.

Did you use Tamiya acryllic 'Nato Brown?' I have used that colour twice, and both times ended up with a patchy finish where I filled in between the demarcation lines..... no matter how much I stirred the paint before and during spraying. I bought both lots of paint from the same store and thought that it might have been a bad batch. Did you have this problem too?

Looking good so far, Chris. Should come out great with the addition of the black patterns and the weathering. Looks like the Tamiya kit is better that the Italeri, IMHO. Silly putty really works great. How I wish I could find that material here.
