WOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!

Andy, this is, HANDS DOWN. my absolute FAVORITE thing I've seen you finish!

OUTSTANDING!!!!!! Bow [bow]

I love the base!!!!! And speaking of that, thank you for not plopping it down on the ol' varnished plaque--that seems to be quite the norm across the pond there?

My prediction--GOLD, First Place, Blue Ribbon--all the above! LOL!

Just SUPERB!!!

Thanks Dupes, Bbrowniii Doog and Biffa

Dupes the mapping is really eazy and adds a bit more depth to the finnish making it look more interesting, If you do progresive layers its very effective and people say how did you get that finnish when they see the model in the flesh and i just say with hours and hours of patience HEE HEE. Whistling [:-^]

Doog i said a while back that i was gonna do a base for this as it was on the dredid wooden plaque for a year or so, im glad i decided to complete it, im taking my 251 halftrack to the show as well  to see how that fares as its still a virgin to the show curcuit.Yours looks great.Bow [bow]

Biffa thanks for the praise, means a lot Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Bbrowniii the figure is from Warriors and he is putting his coat onThumbs Up [tup]

Bodge: Again masterful work.  I highlighted what you said for dupes because I hope he sees this...I stressed the layering effect on my T34 thread  and you're confirming what I'm saying... the patience of the multiple layers is what gives the effect.

Thanks Steve , yer i agree,i have added a bit more mapping to this today because you can go as far as you want. there is no right or wronge amount, its finnished when your happy with it bacically ive also added another shovel on the rear deck because i think they might need it soon and hung a gerry can on the side of the turret. Ready for the show. im taking the following:-Tiger in the mud, Sdk251 with pak which is my favorite build, i love it, Blondie in 1/18 scale and my Panther A in 1/72 scale. I think that will do.

Congrats on the wins!  Say, who manufactured that blonde cupcake you painted up?

On a more helpful note, can you expand on this color mapping technique?  I don't have $70 to shell out for the Jimenez book, though now I'm king of kicking myself for not getting it when Squadron had it on sale.

For example, how thin should the paint be?

Thanks very much lads.

The Blonde is a Legend resin kit, And as for mapping the paint should be very thin just as to break up the base coat. Do this in different layers and add more paint to taste .Its a case of making the base coat look like it has worn to different degrees. Practice on some old plastic.

Andy, Congrats on the wins, well deserved. I never got to reply to your photo report on the show but thanks for posting it was great.

I too have the MIG book FAQ, I think tis just brilliant. But just to shock some people who would like to have it, I seen two on Amazon.co.uk for £150, yes that sterling and that was each.

OUCH!

But congrats again, cool stuff.

Terry.

Bodge,

The Tiger is fantastic!  Congrats on your showing in the show you deserve it!

I have thought about picking up the FAQ book but it's not cheap but what the heck you only go through a depression once in our life!  Hopefully! Sad [:(]

Thanks all to have taken the time to post kind remarks on this im glad you all like it and its allways a pleasure. Andy.

I know the FAQ book is exspensive but its the modelling Bible and a must have, mind you i would say that  i got my copy for free as a mate of mine works for a book distribution company.
