Thanks for the info.  These forums are a gold mine.  I'm going to go with the same decal scheme.  You've motivated me.  Bow Down

There is feeler out there now for a Tamiya 1/48 armor only GB.  U 2 should join forces.

Thanks Jose, much appreciated.  I was just admiring your JadTiger in missing Lynx and then I found it here too on FSM.  I still like the PUMA you did though, the vignette was great with the French policeman.

I'm thinking of starting another Quarter Scale Group Build - the last one was over a year ago. Love to generate more interest in 1/48th armor, especially since we have some many more choices in kits now.

Really happy to see a 1/48 kit ... and even more happy when I find a so delicious vehicle so nicely painted and weathered .... excellent!

Thanks for your comments, I was a bit surprised when I got an update on this thread as it's from 2 years ago.

I didn't do anything special for the vinyl tires, I did give everything an overall flat coat before adding pigments to the tires though.  That gave the pigments a better surface to stick to.

Nice work!

The paint and decals really look nice.

Did you do anything special with the vinyl tires for this thing?  Did you base coat them with anything before weathering?

Gentlemen, Thanks for the comments.

Marc, yes, I'm planning to bring that to mosquitocon. Gotta pump up the interest in 1/48 armor! The 1st time I bought some in, I was the only entry. last year, there were maybe 5 altogether, would love to see it pass double digit this year.

Stunning Autoblinda, waikong!!! Just plain stunning, especially love the Italian flag decals.Thumbs Up [tup]Cool [8D] By the way, I didn't forget about my Bren carrier I'm still building for your GB. I might be able to finish it in the next few days, since I just have to paint and weather the tarps and guns. Hopefully no problems will arise.Smile [:)]

Disaster, thanks for your comments. I checked out your BT7, what a great build, as everyone said on that thread, the weathering is just fantastic. I've only started building armor recently, and for some reason I've been fascinated on creating a good rust finish. Your BT7 is definitely reference material for me in terms of what one can achieve.

Terry, do drop by the GB. I love the look of this particular Italian armor too, those tricolors sure do make them more interesting than the usual gray or tan.

I love it, great work, great finish, I love these Italian vehicles. I just might join the 1/48th G.B.

I'll pop by some time .

Again Great work.

Regards,

Terry.

Okay, problem fixed. seemed like I typed in the slashes backwards, it took them, but behaves erratically, I couldn't see the pictures in firefox (usually use IE 7). Sorry about that.

Nicely done! I can see the pics in the post but when clicking on them to see the full size pic, that results in the red X...I think that's the first time I've ever encountered that particular problem here at least. I'm using IE 7 as my browser.

Joe, thanks.

Wirraway, not sure what happened, but its working now.

Rick, that's interesting, I didn't hear about the recall. I got mine via the SuperModel boxing with the CR.42. If you want the plane anyway, it's way cheaper to get the kit than the Tamiya one.

Excellent build Thumbs Up [tup].  I've been trying to find the Tamiya boxing of this kit, but apparently Tamiya recalled them due to the plastic used in the molding.

Italeri now shows a Puma as a future release, which would make an interesting companion vehicle.
