Stunning piece of work Rick. I have to agree with the others the thing looks about as real as it can get.

I saw the pics of the dio and the awards were well deserved. Congrats on those.

Congrats Rick, stunning work there, while reading your description I liked your comments about plaster chips and pigment. While doing ground work the other evening I needed to gouge out the earth. The resulting dust/chips I kept, I thought it was the best looking debris I had seen in ages.

Again congrats on a simply brilliant project a rea lshow stopper.

Doog, you're right the scene is mostly completed - maybe about 98% at the time I took it to competition in Seattle a couple of weeks ago where it won 1st in Dio's and Best of Show. Schnobs posted a couple of pictures of it on his show update post. And I know that you saw some parts of it on MIG as well.

I have a June deadline for it...so I'd better get the other 2% finished pretty soon.

Caterpiller D7

Hey all,

Boy, it's been a long time since I've had the opportunity to post here.

I'd like to share a few shots of my Caterpiller D7 with most of the weathering completed - final weathering will be done once upon the base. Lots of work with the pigments and MIG 502 oils. The dirt and buildup on the tracks is bits of plaster chips/dust mixed with MIG resin.

The Dozer is to be included on a base showing it pushing a burnt/destroyed Pz. IV remains to the side (some of you may have already seen other portions of the scene already ). Anyway, I wanted to catch you all up on this as I'm getting ready to wrap it all up for final presentation.

The kit is a discontinued item from Resicast. Here is a progress shot.
