E 100 Ausf. B pics
Posted by panzer88 on Sunday, October 11, 2009 5:29 PM

Hi all. Here I am again. I need some more input, this time on my camo for my E-100. I figured that I'd try something a little different for my German armor collection (besides german grey,dk yellow, red brown, panzer green), so I used Nato Black and Dk Green and went for a more modern armor paint job. I'm not sure if I want to leave it as is or add some red brown? I based the color scheme loosely off my Tamiya Leopard2A5 directions. Tell me what you think. And also, full armor skirts, partial skirts, or no skirts? Thanks again. Sorry about pic quality, was in a hurry.

David, I think that looks pretty cool! You know what would be cool? Put some Bundeswehr modern crosses on it! THAT Would be thought-provoking and different!

I don't think it needs any red.... might contrast too sharply with the primer. And I say leave the skirts off-not only is it a cool color juxtasposition, but these tanks look like big tortoises with them on!

Sans the red too. Draws my eyes right towards it. Personally, I like the skirts. They give it a meaner look yet.

Doog,Tigerman -thanks for chiming in. That's a neat idea Doog, I'll have to see if I have any extras laying around and see what it looks like. Still not sure about the skirts though, I had a heck of a time getting the tracks to stay glued together before so I was planning to resort to stapling them and then hiding this with the skirts, but for some special reason the modelling gods must have felt pity on me because after trying to glue them for the 5th or 6th time they stayed together, but still not sure how strong the bond is. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'll experiment with the skirts and see.

Panzer88,

That is incredible!  Thumbs Up [tup]  I would have to agree with the others on the skirts.  Visually it would give the "600 pound gorilla" some mean looking "shoulders".

A very nice build sir.

Cheers

Dave

With enough thrust, pigs fly just fine.
