I'm not 100% sure, would have to go back and read up a bit to be certain, but I believe that they didn't use them on every link but instead spread them out ever 2 or 3 links in order to improve traction. FWIW, since they are only really visible on the links that show on the sprocket and idler, that's where I would install them vs. adding them to every single link but others might say that's cheating a bit.
One other thing before I forget...you might want to trim off the little sight projections on the hull MG. Those weren't used on the tank-mounted MG34s since the sighting was done via the small circular aperture and scope vs. an over-the-barrel sight like you would see with a regular infantry-use MG34.
