Very good technique. I use it all the time specially for shading faces on figures and darkening creases in uniforms. It gives you a lot more control than pin washing.

I see it now, not sure what happened there. In any case, looks great... Modelling is one of those medium where a video really shows what words and pictures alone can't.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the comment.

Ron, I think that would be very interesting..."Oy, shagge', y'all come back now, ya hear!"

Doog, thanks for reminding me I need to check out his vid.  But being an amateur videographer(sp?), to get my fat face in the frame would require change to wide angle lenses and refocusing etc.Stick out tongue

Steve, Wow, you... er.. I mean your double... came so close to being one of the videos where you scream out OH MY GOD as the crumpled body rolls down the landing ramp.

Nice little tip, Marc!

My only complaint is that you didn't show us all how pretty you are, like Rob (scratchmod) did. lol!

Nate, thanks my friend

Boyd, That's J.P. Prewitt from Zoolander

Mike.  I've left messages for George but he won't return my calls.  Go figure.

Bill, yeah very similar results.  I am looking at the Marder, really wanting to try that on the whole thing but I am afraid of brushing away all the fiddly bits.

Looks like an effective technique, very similar to a pin wash but without having to use thinner to achieve the effect. Congrats on the video debut! Wink Beer

Humm...it appears some of our members are going Hollywood. Nice Toot.....my only thought is you need an opening....maybe this

You could change the production to Wing Nut LTD Films and the tag line to "a long time ago on a bench far far away"

Good stuff Marc

Marc!  You're a movie star! Who did you pay to be your hand double? Geeked

I am ABSOLUTELY going to use that tip. Funny, I've got some road wheels that look remarkably similar to those.... weird....Whistling

Thanks guys, glad you like it.

Eric, the problem Kenny is talking about is with my website.  the video is on Photobucket.

Kenny,  I had a problem a while back. Google periodically scans the site and it has showed up clean since then.  There are still some broken links that happened when I had to upload the entire site all over again.  Some security software picks those up and gives a warning.  I am going to request another review.  But if you are not comfortable... don't go there for the time being.

Waikong... not sure why you could/t see it.

Andy... Marder wheels? me?  What would I be doing with Marder wheels?

Liked the video toot!  Picture is worth a thousands words especially for modeling... I was able to watch the video without any issue.  Bet those wheels were for your Marder, huh?  Stick out tongue

Hi, went to your web site and I'm afraid I my spy ware blocked it because it found a "Trojan Horse".

Do you think you should check your web site?...cheers....kenny

I'll wait to check it out until the "all clear" sign is given.

Tried something new.  My 1st video tutorial.  This method was suggested to add shadows to a figure with complex uniform camo  It wasn't the idea of oils over acyrilcs... nothing new about that... but the use of the brushes to take off the excess.

Hope you find it useful
