I've had this on the bench for a while, as usual. Nothing ever gets off my bench in a hurry. The kit, like all Tamiya kits kits went together without any problems. The only assembly that didn't go according to script was the tracks. The plan had been to use the kit link and length. I assembled part of one run, left them to dry for an hour so I could get them around the sprocket idler, and most of the run fell apart. My fault, I assume, but I wasn't going to start them over. I used the kit rubber bands, and created the sag with some brass rod.
I did the white air identification stripe by laying down a coat of dark green on the relevant parts of the turret, then a coat of white over the same place. I masked what I wanted to stay white and put down the base coat. The green is a little darker than I would have liked, but good enough. Future, decals and more future followed, then a flat coat and a dot filter with oils. I followed that up with several washes, then started the mud and dirt. I followed the procedure on the Mig FAQ DVD, then finished up with pigments over the rest of the hull and turret. I wanted something darker than regular dust, given a spring time frame, and I got what I was aiming for.
Comments and feedback welcome, as usual.

Very nice! I could be the pics, but the dot filter is barely noticeable. Happened with my pershing too, the pics washed the effect out. Looks great!
nice job good pics enjoyed the post.

That's a nice JS-2 squatting there. I like the weathering subtle but visible. Great!
Boba Fett Very nice! I could be the pics, but the dot filter is barely noticeable. Happened with my pershing too, the pics washed the effect out. Looks great!
On my Cromwell, the pigments seemed to wipe out the dot filters. I probably overdid mine.
Nice looking Stalin there. I like the pigments.

very nice dirt and dust effects, well done.my only suggestion would be to tone down the white identification stripe.
Looks like a winner to me.This is another kit I'd like to eventually get around to some day.
