LVT in italy
Posted by Jose_Luis_Lopez on Monday, April 11, 2011 3:21 AM

Hello again:

Here you can see my last work. A LVT in Italy, during Lake Comacchio raid operation. The kit is from Italeri, tracks from Hard Corp and Friul, including the Eduard PE set for some extra detailing.

The Jeep, from Tamiya.

Hope you like it.

Any opinion or suggestions will be highly apreciated.

A very nice build all around.... as stated, good attention to detail.

A bit of help here:

The Thinker You might want to consider the position of the jeep as I believe that it would have been pointed in the opposite direction for a more prompt & efficient deployment.

I'm sure it's just a simple matter of picking it up and turning it around.

             Again, very cool.

Absolutely gorgeous job on the LVT!  I especially like the weathering and mud.  I have a set of the Hard Corps Models track set for one of the LVTs in my stash, how easy are the Fruil offerings to work with in comparison as I have a couple LVTs needing the replacement of the rubber set in te kit.

Many thanks for your opinions! Now, some answers:

- Position of the Jeep. This position is visually more atractive. Of course, I asume that it may be not very logical....

- Tracks: Hard Corp tracks are incredible in detail but extremely weak and nearly imposible to repair if broken (I tried white glue, ciano, araldit, tamiya glue... without results, that´s the reason why I had to use Friul tracks). Friul tracks are strong but very difficult to assemble and as LVT tracks are in tension, the weight of the friul´s tracks does not exactly help .... so, LVT tracks are still a headache!

Next step, a base. Actually just base colors and building not fixed to the base (just for pictures). Location: Lake Comacchio, Italy, April 45

One of my favorite subjects and this is a real sweet build!! I love it!

Disastermaster is correct... back that vehicle in so you can exit real quick!

Thanks,

Jose, it's hard to find anything to critique in your beautiful builds, but I have to believe that if that rear gate were getting slammed down on the ground, in the sand, etc, it would be chipped up and beaten-up where it contacted the ground. You might want to reassess that area as far as the weathering?

Other than that--spectacular, as usual!
