Poole Vikings model show 2011

Went to the show with my boy on Saturday 16 th April. arrived at 8.30 to find my table was taken by some traders. Not a good start, few crossed words so to speak. With the Table sorted we set up our display.

The place was full to the brim with exhibitors and traders. Me and the boy left to get a breakfast down Mcdonalds. When we got back all fueled up we had a wander about. I purchased the new book from Canfora called Panther. It is on the lines of the Nordick edge books with some of their modelers featured with new builds all on the Panther tank. Great book  but not cheap at £28.99  .

I did a spot of judging on the miscellanea s  category. I was asked to do dioramas but as i wanted to enter that category i turned the offer down.

It was a great show with some well talented modelers showing their stuff.

John(Spud ) murphy the ex editor of model military magazine was theere with Kev Smith and Darren Thompson, all great modelers and their stand was full of awsome builds. I had a good old chat with them.

Met up with other modelers from the military modeling forum aswell and had a good old natter.

All in all it was a great day out with my boy.

Best bit of the show for me was my lad Curtis won Gold in the juniors category for his warhammer diorama and also picked up junior best of show.

I put four models in the comp ,one in figs, armour, dios and auto,s and to my suprise i picked up four golds and three Trophys. The 56 Chevy i have just finnished picked up Aeryton Senna ,s Helmet award plus a glass trophy.  That was amazing as it is genuine.

Congrats, Andy! Beer  Still love that figure bust... one of the best I have ever seen online.  Just send over the awards if you are running out of space to display. Big Smile

Congrats on the haul, Andy! That Chevy is killer--you know how I love rustbuckets!

I love that "Little WIlly" too. Is that scratched, or is it a kit?
