When bending the plastic cold you are asking the material to "cold flow", this causes stress in the plastic which is why it will want to return to it's natural state.
If you gently heat the material and allow it to cool in the new shape it will mold to that shape and stay. There may be so spread when it is cold due to the properties of the plastic.
the trick is EVEN heat, and not to strech the material in one area greater than another.
A hair dryer on high at a bit of a distance will give a nice even heat, you do not need much if it is only a slight bend.
