Dragon Initial Production Tiger 1 fit question.

I am building the Dragon Initial production Tiger 1 kit and I am haveing a fit issue. My front armour is sticking 1/16th of an inch above the deck plate. (see image)

Is this normal or if not, how much should I sand this down. Right now if I put in a close lid for the two drivers on each side, the vision copulas would be blocked by this front armour.

I am poitive that this is correct. And those periscopes on top of the hatch are angled off to the side, not for looking straight ahead. So they wouldn't be blocked by that raised section.

If you check this pic of the Bovvy Tiger, you can see how the perisc ope does stick up above that front piece.

It's correct. That's just how the armor on a Tiger is.

Yes, it does stick up. Here's a Late Tiger:

One thing to watch out for in Dragon kits is the 2 radiators inside the rear. They provide the top parts for the radiators but their hull armour is so thick that they don't fit under it. Omit those parts.

David, nice photo, shows it perfectly. And i didn't know that about the Dragon kits. Thanks for the tip. Do you know if it applies to all there Tigers, i have an Initial and 2 late's from Dragon.

Hi Stuart06,

The front plate was designed to protrude above the hull roof but yours is sitting to high.
The gap that is visible between the cut out in back off the front plate and the hull roof can be avoided with some careful dry fitting.
The 3 parts hull roof, front plate and the plate covering the transmission housing are interlocking if assembled correctly.
