Dupes Scores!
Posted by ajlafleche on Sunday, September 25, 2011 8:25 AM
Let me be the first here to offer my online congrats to Marc Dupuis, aka DUPES. Not only did he score a gold for his Thor railroad mortar, but he took the theme award at yesterday's AMPS East show. The award included a spent 75mm shell provided by Gino "Heavy Arty" Quintiliani. Among the other award winners from the site were Scratchmod (multiple awards, including best Sherman, BBrowniii, and myself.

Well done guys,a nd ye, lets see some pics.

Its a real shame Dupe can't get on here as much as he used to. He builds great stuff and has hosted some great GB's.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

And, lets not forget that in addtion to the Gold and the Show Theme Award, Dupes also took home the coveted People's Choice Award for the Karl Morser.

Hat Trick for Dupes!!!!

Congrats to Dupes, and all the FSM crew for their wins! Great turnout, and some truly awesome work on display. Also, Mike, AKA Redleg, did an outstanding job on the actual Artillery Award plaque. Well done.Yes

I had a great time, and as usual it was great getting to hang out, and talk with fellow FSMers in person. I look forward to this show all year, and this year was another winner in my book! Hats off to all the guys who helped put it together including Thom Ivancso, and Mike Delvechio.Great job guys! Can't wait for next year!

Hey, thanks you guys! Embarrassed

Yeah, the judges (and crowd) were friendly to me this time around - didn't think I'd take nearly this sort of haul my first year competing in the Advanced category. Pics to come once I get them off of Mia's camera.

Bish - rumor has it that my cell internet plan MAAAAAY be switching to unlimited bandwidth here in the next few months - if it happens, I promise I'll be around more! Yes

For those who are curious...here is the theme award. As Al stated, my brother Gino supplied a 75mm blank for the award. My daughter supplied the graphics. It was a pleasure on my part to design and present the award, especially considering the winner

Congrats.....I know the award has a good home

You know, I was thinking about that - the options are fairly limited when you want to "go big" in the armor categories. Since I've got the Morser Karl checked off, that leaves the Leopold (which I have...but won't be breaking into any time soon), or the Dora. Which is just insane.

Thanks for the kudos guys - pics still to come! Mia's new camera, download pictures, blah blah blah.

Alright, finally got some pics of the award winners. Sorry they aren't a bit brighter, but my photobooth won't hold even HALF of the big guy, so no luck there! My dining room table will have to suffice.

First up is the Tamiya StuG III Ausf. B I finished sometime this spring - took a silver.

Second is the Trumpeter Morser Karl Gerat w/Railcars. Took a Gold, People's Choice, and the Show Theme award.

This was my first year competing in the Advanced category...was expecting (and would have been happy with!) bronzes for my entries. Thought I might have a shot at the show theme award just because of the sheer size of the Morser (see previous size-related comments). Turns out I found some judges that liked my style of building.

I'll take it! Yeah
