Color for Karl Mortar

You know the great big German Siege cannon? The Adam calls for Gunze color 28 steel but that just sounds odd. Panzer grey maybe?

I thought Pz grey. German artillery seems to have all been painted in the same way as armour.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Depends on time period you want to depict...you have your choice of Panzer Gray pre-Feb '43, Dunkelgelb with or without camo after that as they saw service beyond the Crimea campaign on the Russian front. HTH! Beer

Working on "Thor" myself.  Color options I have are:

A) Dark Gray FS36081 Overall

B) Dark Green FS34086 Overall

C) Desert Yellow FS33434, Dark Green FS34086, Brown FS30117 camo. (I question the Desert Yellow)

Thanks,

An artistic suggestion--whatever color you paint it,  remember that in the scale it is in, the "scale effect" of the light playing upon such a massive object would render whatever base coat you choose to be perceived as much lighter than the actual out-of-the-bottle paint.

Lighten your base coat by at least 50% for a more accurate paint coat.
