Robert Wise directed the fist Star Trek movie in 1979.....so the film crew must have survived Gort...........

Yes, Very exciting indeed. Guy in are club is finishing up one of the Italeri ones right now. It will be very nice to have a state of the art kit of it.

Those are Dragon figs btw.(notice the "crew set supplied by Dragon" and Dragon logo. Volstads art was just copy and pasted over the Bronco art. Seems they are in cahoots.

A new Chaffee kit would be very welcome !

 After the Bugs Bunny cartoon feature, I first saw it at the drive in late at night  in a double feature with Forbidden Planet (while living in Wichita, Kansas) with my mom and dad; so long, long ago .

 I miss the simple innocence of that time in my life so much. I miss Dad & Mom too.

Duh! I was looking at some of MiniArts new US tank crew figures and mixed them up with the Dragon ones. Funny I've got the very Dragon figure box sitting right there beside my work area. How I got from Dragon and MiniArt to Masterbox I'll never know though...

Used to be a big fan of 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' but as I've aged the movie has lost a lot of it's luster. I mean handing all the power in your Galactic Federation over to a army of super-powerful unstoppable robots!?!  Yeah, nothing could go wrong there eh???

While an armor officer at Ft. Knox, I was fortunate to be involved in the re-enactments we had every 4th of July.  By the 2nd year, I had worked myself up to gunner on a Chaffee.  The 75mm gun took some getting used to.  On a 105 or 120mm, you push the shell in with the palm of your hand and let the breech block push it up and out of the way (if you're too slow).  I was used to that.

The 75mm on the M24 was different.  You had to learn to punch it with your fist, and the breech would close sideways.  I chickened out and got myself a block of wood as a pusher instead.  Took some ribbing for it, but I noticed everyone else started using my method.
