Those are the fuel tank port covers. The Pz IV had the fuel tanks mounted on that side of the vehicle and the covers were armored and protected the spouts of the tanks. Definitely made the gunner's seat a "hot" one if the tank took a round there.

The question I have is on the instruction sheet here. What are Parts 25 called and purpose?

They have a hinge and it looks like that in real life these could be open from within side the tank for some reason. If this is true I was thinking of drilling a hole and inserting a pin so they would open and close for a small added touch.

Glad to be of help! On the return rollers, they would have been primed with red oxide primer before getting a DY coat like all the other components. The contact surfaces with the tracks would wear down to bare metal pretty fast though so bear (no pun intended!) that in mind when you get to the final paint/weathering stages.

Thanks Bill for the insight. It is always a plus when a resident "guru" answers. I will go with the A7/11 idlers. One more? Should I then paint the A2/3 rollers steel followed by Dunkelgelb?

Hey Bish.Will do my best to update. Yes that is a Panzerwerfer. I am debating on leaving it Dunkelgelb or doing a "squiggly" Olivgrün scheme.

I have this on my to buy list, so will deffinatly be keen to see how it comes together.

And is that an Italeri Panzerwerfer 42 i spy there.

The choice presented for the idlers has to do with the "age" of the donor Pz IV hull for your Berge IV. The introduction of the cast idler (A7/11) is a later feature versus the tubular idler A34/35....so it's up to you on which one to use. Both types wee seen on Pz IV Ausf H hulls with all-steel return rollers...which is what the choice is that's being offered to you on A2/3 and A13/14. Those types of rollers were used interchangeably so you can pick whichever type you like and run with it. HTH!
