Turning out a treat. I am spoiled by the Dragon T34's, so I have not looked at the UM ones closely.

Impressive little kit. You did a good job on those tracks which would have killed me.

This is very impressive kit being 1/72 scale with quit a bit of detail.  You are doing some solid work here. Like the coloration you have going on Yes

Ba-6 seems a good kit too.

Waiting to collect courage to glue the tracks on the 34 Big Smile

Now that looks a mighty fine build.

Have a heap of UM kits in my stash but have only built the BA-6 thus far.

Washed the tracks with a mix of various colors included silver... not too convinced of result, will correct with a drybrush

put on the new bars with copper rods

scratched the light on the left side... i was able to lost all the two lamps included in the kit

I think the black wash looks great, to be honest---it gives the desired "shadow" effect that you want there. And the drybrush color was a good choice, although I"d also opt for a light pass of tan drybrushing on the highest points to give another dimension to the simulating of light that would be hitting the model in "real life".

Finally decided to work on the t-34!!

A simple brown drybrush given a better result than the black wash!! littterally i'm not good with total washes Sad

And glued wheels

More updates soon (last famous words Whistling )

cut the tracks for paint session

and started to paint

the result after a first layer of green (humbrol 116 used)

heres the update

unfortunately the wheels have no pins or costrainer to glue perfect and some adjust is needed, wheels don't fit propertly on respective gears

i will try the sherman too in future but want to place more russian subject before. Already builded the "top kit" js-2 from italeri and the su-85 from UM Stick out tongue

So last night i glued lots of pieces (lots!! the kit have 147 parts Indifferent ) and only for gluing main upper structures, wheels togheter and gears took 3 hours of work!

A good thing about the um t-34 family is that the kit don't leave holes between the upper armor and lower one: good point for this brand!

This afternoon pictures

It's not that usual to see a build  in this scale , but I'm looking forward to it. The results can be pretty amazing! Smile

I agree, UM makes some nice kits. Until Dragon upped the Sherman market with their kits, UM's 1/72 scale Shermans were the way to go.

Nice work on the T-34.

doogs kit pieces are enough tiny but i have already some copper rod that could work good to simulate damages

bufflehead UM meets me for a offers about the su-85 kit,  and i was really surprised to the detail level i'm not expected from a ukraine almost unknown brand. Is similar details as some 72 italeri productin, not perfect like italeri but really good

I've never build any of UMs kits, but it looks to be quite nice!  Thanks for posting this bsyamato!

WOW, for "Braille scale", they have some pretty nice detailing!

The only thing I'd recommend is replacing the grab handles with some wire. It would look a lot better in scale!

t-34/76 UM models 72 scale wip
Posted by bsyamato on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 4:28 PM

First wip in this section, i'm almost a newbee in the armour kits Dunce before this i only completed 4 tanks in 1/72 and one in 1/35.

Just arrived today with others supplies this little piece and already started to glue something

Already build the su-85 from same brand and really enjoy the quality of kit ,so i decided to try the t-34 that have shared lots of pieces with the su-85.

Payd 5€ ,this little kit includes photoetched parts!

The only disappointing are the wheels rubber maded of .. rubber .

Tracks in the same kit plastic

the hull with glued sides and the upper armor, pilot between in same scale!

soon updates, i will build this little tank between unused time between others kits
