Here's what I've been up to...

Whoa! Long time no see SMJ, glad to see you came back to armor modeling but your work in the railroad area ain't too shabby. On my end my modeling has taken a back seat with school, but thankfully it's summer so I'll have a little free time in between portfolio work and classes(which I'm taking in order to get my bachelors of architecture sooner rather then later.)

The Roman Colosseum, geez you're giving me a heart-attack here.....I'll admit I'd never thought I'd see that project hit the light of day again. But definately glad to see the dust is being brushed off and the project may very soon become realilty once more.

So your still working in the archtiecture field I assume. Hows it going with your work, hopefully the projects are in plentiful abundance and their keeping you busy.

Very nice weathering on those cars.  I get to see many as I am a truck driver and cross many active lines.

doog:  I'm in total agreement with ya' Karl...I had bought the base for a different project and hoped it would work...but it's way too small for  that behemoth Colossseum!

After researching the dimensions of the actual Colosseum I created a CADD layout of one archway.  As you can see by the figure IT"S HUGE!!!.  I carved away the arch and then added some basic detailing.  It's farther along than the photo shows...I'll be sure to intro the project with more info/photos when I get back to it!

SMJmodeler: Oh... I see. Still, there were more StuG units and other self- propelled Gun detachments than tanks on the German side in Italy, due to the nature of the terrain.

This was SUPPOSED to be my entry for a GB that I  started...I'm ashamed to say I did NOT finish...sheesh, I barely started!..maybe I'll get to it after the Tiger I'm worikng on.

That is really beautiful work.  No surprise though remembering that your main focus was always the weather part of the build.  

I have been away for a short while too but if your back... I may start doing some more armor since I really enjoyed being on the receiving end of your critiques.  Especially since I asked for them.  I do remember a small flap about a perception you were maybe being a little "too honest", but like I said... I asked for it.  Hope you stick around.  Lots of weathering lessons to be learned from you.

Mind blowing, that is some of the most beautiful modellling I've seen in a long time.

The SOO line car is SOOOOO fine, more like what I expected.

 Those two Diesels are really appealing too.

Sir D: Of the many trains I had on display at the show the Soo Line and  the diesel were by far the most controversial...The viewers were diametrically opposed, they either LOVED -EM  or HATED EM!  I thought you would appreciate them, thanks Steve!

Panzerpilot: ,  I actually DON"T like the look of the graffitti...even as a painting challenge.

Bodge:  I appreciate that 1:72 dio' you did even more now!  The train scenery guys could learn a lot from you! in fact, call the guys at Model Railroader magazine...same Kalmbach Group.

Gamera:  Very kind words and yes the bar is high here...LOTS of talent on this forum.  Vandalism is vandalism...period.  I just finished my first N-gauge freight car, I'm real happy with it! 

dupes: O-gauge has come a long way since the Lionel days.  They offer much more realistic trains and accessories...not so "toylike".  I HAVE considered building/selling some 1:48 armor to ride on a flatbed...hmmmm  BTW: How many 1:48 do you have under your belt?  any US stuff? thoughts? recommended kits/ mfr? PM or call me!).   

redleg12: scratchmod DID see the rusty stuff, he was at The Big E Train Show just this past January.  I had everything on display at my vendor table and him and Ken (camokid)  came by...they were representing AK Interactive at the show, it was great to see them again!

I wish I had some O-Gauge stuff to send you...would be fun to do up some of the 1/48 Tamiya armor I've got at a railyard. Mmmmm.

Perhaps you should look into snagging some of their 1/48 kits.
