Howdy, folks!
Scanmania continues as I resurrect ancient pictures from decades ago vua the magic of Hewlett-Packard scanning technology!
Here's a pic of two pieces of armor I did way back in 1991:
I had just gotten back into modeling after several years away from the hobby.
In the foreground is Tamiya's M1 Abrams (with the 105mm gun) and Lindberg's (!) T-55, which I think I must've done as the Israeli Ti-67 version, one of the options of the kit. I think the markings are from the Monogram M-48 kit.
I have no recollection at all of what colors I used, but it's obvious from the pix that I used the same color on both vehicles! Whatever it was, it was Testors Model Master, from a rattlecan.
The main recollection I have of the Lindberg kit was that it was fairly decent! Nice fit, easy build. It's probably wildly inaccurate, but at the time I thought the detail was nice.
For some reason I cut off the wind sensor from the rear of the turret on the M1. No idea why; maybe I thought it was a snorkle or something.
It's fun looking back at models you built 13 years ago! And trying to remember what you did and why you did it!
