I just find theres so many great builds that i just happen to have a kit that will fit. I'm just adicted. I was supposed to not be entering any more for a bit, due to moving, looking for a new job and other things. But i think i have put myself down for 5 or 6 in the last month.

So much for my will power.

Bish

The last Big Cats GB was my first, thats what i built the Mid Tiger for. Since then all my builds have been for GB's. So be warned, you may be hooked for life.

This is true anymore with me. I guess I just hate to build alone. Wink

Tigerman & Bish, Oh man, I am sorely tempted to join. Trying to finish my P-47 for the "Jugs" GB and I have yet to get started on the F7F Tigercat for the Grumman Iron Works GB, But given your start date I may just give 'er a shot. I'll get back to you on the Steel Cats GB thread. Thanks for the invite.

Very nice Tiger. Have to love all those roadwheels. LOL Nice weathering on it.

Joe, you should check out our Steel Cats GB and get that Tiger in on it.

Very well done indeed!! Although I build mainly aircraft I do have a few armor kits in my stash and I peak into this forum to have a look at some the builds. I just recently picked up the Tamiya 1/35 Tiger I mid production along with the Eduard Big Ed detail set during the Great Models clearance sale, paid about $30.00 all together. So, now you've got me chomping at the bit.

Also, Welcome to the forums! You will find the folks here immensely helpful and just enjoyable to share with.

Hey Steve,

I don't do armor much but it looks good to me. As for the learning I think we all have that problem. I've been building models off and on since I was around 12 years old (which gives me around 30 years of off and on experience) and there isn't hardly a piece I build that I don't learn something on. There are some guys on here that are really helpful like Manny, Hans von Hammer and Fermis to name a few and they have helped me out. Anyway welcome to the forum and good job on the Tiger. See around on here, Joe

Tamiya 1/35 scale Tiger Tank.

Hi guys, this is my first post so be nice! LOL

Built this Tamiya Tiger roughly 5 years ago now, I can't remember which version of the Tiger it is guys sorry, but I guess one of you chaps will spot it. As memory serves (and it usually doesn't serve me that well) I used a Tamiya spray for the grey base coat, then weathered using Humbrol oil based paints, I dry brushed silver for paint wear on the edges of the hatch, smoke launchers and various areas I would think paint wear would end up. I used earthy colours for the more distinct dried on muddy look and the damped it down blended it in with thinners on a cotton bud. Then I added some light rusting effect with a Humbrol acrylic brown from the stocks. Then came the oil based pastels for a light dusting effect. Lastly I used  little thinned down matt 33 black for shadowing.

The kit is built straight from the box, and came with photo etched grilles and woven metallic pipe work for air filters, these items add a great touch of realism to the kit. The grills I adjusted a little by cutting a few of the links to simulate damage. The pipe work has to be cut to size and the glued in place. The main gun isn't bad actually, as some suffer from really bad seam lines. But if I built another, an after market barrel would be great for this. The tracks are the one supplied with the kit and were painted the same colour as the body of the tank, then dry brushed and dusted to match..as were the wheels..

I was kind of learning as the builds went along so there are still things I would like to improve on, for one,  a little extra detail on the handle of the shovel on the front.
