Nice first attempt after a 7 year layoff. The mudding is a great effect from the rear! The side view looks as though it was difficult to add the mudding to the top of the tracks, almost like you got a little lazy on the mudding effect. You should have stuck to it a little longer and finished the job, it would have really added to the model. The fenders caught my eye, they don't seem to be authentic. Did you do some work on them? They seem to slightly detract from the model. I can't quite put my finger on as to why. Your showing a well worn tank, the exaust is even rusted but you show no battle scars. A well used tank like your attempting to portray should have some battle damage. Adding a German tanker would really accent the tank and add to the realism. Over all it's a nice tank but I'd bet you can do much better; you know you can do much better. It was your first time back and you may have rushed to finish it up. When you do more work on it, and I'd bet you are, post it again. I'd love to see what you do with it. You wanted a true assessment, I hope I didn't offend you. Everyone else chose to praise you but that's not what you wanted was it? You wanted to know what you can do to better your modeling skills. Your skills may be better suited for modern armor, an M1 possibly. Do you have Tankers Blood in your veines? Keep up the good work, you'll get better with each project.
