Funny you guys should mention that about the camoflage scheme. I was looking through a mate's book on panzer divisions (the title escapes me but it had a lot of colour plates of various vehicles) and there was a 222 in there that had geen on dark yellow and looked very similiar to mine.

Thanks for the compliments though.

i agree with bish, looks like a schemea vehilce commander mught due. myabe he was guarding a luftwaffe and got some paint and ideas from them. i wouldn't even mention the fantasy and i dare say only 1% of modelers would know.

Nice looking build. If its a fantasy paint job then who cares, but i don't think its totally unrealistic. Looks a bit like a DAK scheme.

This is the oldest built kit that i still have, must have been done 20 years ago. This reminds me that i need to get it patched up a bit and out of its box.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Thanks blokes. The pictures are pretty crappy but they were taken on the fly with my phone. I'll make sure that I upload better ones for the next update.

@Eric - you are right, since I was going to weather the tyres I didn't see the point in spending all that time lines the tyres right up to the lip of the rim.

Cheers,

Brett

Very nice Brett. In the earlier photos it looked like you might have missed some of the tires, but the weathering process seems to have taken care of that.

Brett that looks fantastic, you've really done a very nice job with an old kit and the base really sets it off!

Small update. I started on the base, added some weathering (mainly mud) and have finished one of the three figures I have planned for this. There is still quite a bit of detail painting on the car to go as well as lightening up the darkish mud.

Cheers,

G'day, my first WIP on these boards, but I thought I'd share my results so far on this kit. To be honest I can't even remember where I got it or for how much. I do know that it is an early relase, complete with old box art, 2 sets of plans (1 in English, 1 in Japanese) and no fancy PE.

I had thought on getting an etch set for this but in the end got impatient and pressed on without it. I try and learn something new from each kit and for this I am trying to make my own tarps and bedrolls. A lot of it is from the spares box and random resin sets that I have, but the big tarp on the back deck, right rear mud guard, top of the stowage box, and just behind the wooden box are my efforts. As is the one draped over the spare wheel.

The camoflage and marking are pure fantasy, I just wanted a different scheme to what I already have on my shelf. That said if it is not accurate let me know.

I still have to add it to a small base and add a figure or two, and finish off all the detail painting but I am getting there. BTW the wheel aren't fixed on yet, just posed for photos.

Feel free to jump in with feedback - lord knows I need it Smile

Cheers,

Brett T
