Academy 1/35 Scale Tiger I Early Production

This is my first attempt at building a scale model, I painted a winter whitewash and applied scratches and chips using a piece of blister sponge. Let me know what you think Smile

See, another new poster. Yes boy and gals, the forum is still alive!

First off welcome friend and thanks for taking the time to post your Tiger.

Can't believe it's your first model! Very fine results too. I like the efforts at the chipping. One word of advice for the future, the muzzle-brake wouldn't be blackened as you have it now. I too made the mistake due to artistic licensing from other builds.

One other thing I'd might do is add some streaking to the turret and hull or some pinwashes, especially on the lower hull. My thinking is the lower half in particular would be more weathered as it's so close to the ground, thus getting dirtier.

Thanks for the reply, and the advice! i'll be sure to do that next time with the muzzle break - (i based the paint job on a game model from world of tanks so it may not be historically accurate)

Another world of tanks player. Theres a few on here. As Eric says, its a common thing for modellers to blacken gun muzzles, the same goe's for aircraft wings around the gun ports. But its all a learning process

No matter what you do, do not buy the Tamiya Panther Ausf A kit.  It's a travesty that the kit is still being sold.  It is C-R-A-P.
