I made one of these years ago, long before there was a kit of it. I can't remember where I heard about it--I"m pretty sure it was actually in a high-quality book, like from Fedorowitz publishing or something. One of those great, finely-printed $100 books printed on the best stock paper...?

Anyway, here's the model next to a Pz IV...

Well thank you very much for the info, this weekend I will start building this model and I'll show the progress of it, the challenge we have in our association with this model, one of the rules is that you must build this model out of the box without aftermarket and improvements should be made entirely Scracht.

It 's normal that there are very few pictures of the Stug III Ausf C / D, were produced only about 50 pieces.

This particular vehicle is an 'odd ball' in that it was a standard Ausf C/D upgunned with the long-barrel 7.5cm gun and saukopf mantlet seen on the Ausf Gs. It wasn't a standard production model and was a case of a vehicle repaired and enhanced as a near-war's end expedient. That's why photos of it are virtually non-existent. Aside from the gun and mantlet, everything else remained unchanged in terms of the C/D configuration so if you use standard reference material for that Ausf you should be fine! Wink

Posted by corsario on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 11:57 AM

Hello, I need your help, i´m looking for information about the Stug III Ausf c / d with 7.5 cm L/45 cannon, in my modeling group in Bogotá named AMC IPMS (Amigos Modelistas de Colombia IPMS) between modelers create challenges in different categories (tanks, vehicles, aircraft, etc.) and i currently participate in one concerning the StuG III, the chosen subject for this purpose is the Stug III Ausf c / d mit 7.5 cm L/48 Kanone of Ciberhobby and is acclimating in Prussia (the box art image attached) in the winter of 1944, would be greatly appreciated graphic information about this variant because the references of that vehicule are very sparse
