In its own way, it's cool...things like this are what often get people interested in learning about the vehicles and such and then can lead to them wanting to build what they see. Of course, I have no clue about the dialog or story line since it was all in Japanese, but hey, the level of animation has improved a lot too in terms of rendering the different vehicles.

What was weird too, was German vehicles firing on German vehicles and the inclusion of others such as Japanese.

OK, the tanks are way cool!!  Lots of WWII German armor including Tiger and Panther variants, StuGs, short barreled Pz. IVs, U.S. M3 Lee and a Japanese Type 89!!  And I only watched 2 videos! 

But the premise??  Schoolgirls driving vintage tanks, firing live ammo at each other, while still wearing their school outfits??   Uuhhhhh......I'm still trying to figure this one out!!

But the tanks are way cool!!!

Funny that I should love Japanese Kaiju (giant monster) movies but never really 'got' anime/manga - even the good stuff like Mizoyaki. Still really nice art and animation on the tanks.

And nice to see it in subtitles, not only are they closer to the original Japanese but I can turn down the volume of the squeaky voices. I haven't known many Japanese/American girls but no Korean or Chinese/American girl I've ever known sounded like that...

Still again thanks for the post, I watched the first two clips and will give the rest a try when I get time!

I just finished episode 8 last night.  Good stuff.  They referred to Brig. Gen. Anthony McAuliffe's response to Lt. Gen. Heinrich Freiherr von Luttwitz's requst for surrender.

lol.  No, that's the tank's specific mascot; Hippo.  The other tanks have their own mascots, including Rabbit, Fish (angler fish), Duck, etc.

I really like the stug III colors.  I've got a Lee in the stash, but I ain't painting it pink. ;)

The official kits are made by Platz and FineMolds.  Should be nice builds.

Mascot huh? Thanks for the clarifacation Watchmann. But I'm still not sure why they chose to post this particular view of Mr Hippo, but then, there are many aspects of Japanese culture I don't fully understand.

I think I'll get a big bowl of Basashi Aisu, (raw horseflesh ice cream) and top it off with a double helping of Shirako (you can look that one up) and go play with my Urinal Elephant.

Watch carefully.  There's plenty of other little homages to tanks and WWII.  I think it's in Ep 2 that they go shopping at "Market Garden".  They actually watch a scene from Kelly's Heroes in Ep 10.  Not to mention the Tamiya and Dragon model boxes in the background of the store, and again in one of the girl's rooms.

Even if you don't buy the premise, its worth watching just for the wonderful tank animation.
