AAMPS 2013, Atlanta--anyone going?

What show is this?? I thought the AMPS show was in February

@Eric: There are multiple Regional AMPS shows across the country.  The April show is the International Convention -- the big one.  140 vendor tables --- all armor.  Fort Benning tour, contest. 

Our seminar speakers: Mike Roof (groundwork) , Mike Rinaldi(finishing & painting), Adam Wilder (metal finishes), David Doyle (vehicle research), Rob Ervin (resin casting), Iain Hamilton(WeatheringPt 1), Rick Lawler (weathering Pt 2), Neil Stokes (BT-7 research).

Finescale always is there (thanks guys!) Anyone within a days drive of Atlanta should seriously consider stopping by.  The largest collection of AFVs in North America any given year.  And 140 VENDOR TABLES!!!  I think I'll make an appearance

WIll do, Roy---but I'll be easier to spot with my long red hair--make sure you call me out when you see me! I'll be hanging with Adam WIlder a lot. We may be traveling together.

I'll be there manning a vendor table, hope to see/meet some of the 'forum regulars' in the process!

I'll be making plans for this show.  Just more info.. Is this open for also non-members to visit and or to participate in the model contest? Anymore info about the entrance fee per day and model contests fees??? Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dennis: this year, non members can do both (walk in and enter contest).  The fee is for the entirety of the event

If you pre-register, you can enter models in on Thurs rather than the busier Fri and Sat sessions.  

Roy....the artillery will be looking for you. Karl, holy excrement...finally....and Bill will be there too. The three of us should grab the FSM guys (not sure who is coming this year) and all go out to dinner or at least a drink!!

I'm psyched to think that I'm going to finally meet you, and some of the FSM guys!!! How COOL!!!

I'm waiting to hear back from Adam--he's still in Russia, where I saw him and invited him to our show there. I went to one of his seminars at a hobby store in Yekaterinburg, I'm either going to travel with him from Charlotte, or meet he and his business partner there. He's got a new line of products coming out that are the BOMB.

We'll be able to talk about dinner and all that when we meet. I'm sure I'll have at least one night obligated to Adam and his business partner(s). Not sure how many are coming.

One thing's for sure--the awesomeness of the whole weekend!! WAHOOOOO!!!

Just waiting to hear from Adam, and then I'll know my schedule. I'm not sure if I'll stay there at that hotel--"cheap" is my mantra! But the plan sounds good so far!!!

Bill, Mike, Karl and all others -- the last few years, the Friday night shindig tends to be the biggest gathering.  Dunno the layout of the hotel but I suspect just listen for the loudest party -- that'll be us.  

A few times, I wondered if the hotel staff wouldn't call the cops on us....  the fellas get a little wild...

Just heard back from Adam--it's a GO! We're coming for sure! Probably getting in on Thursday, early afternoon--I believe that Adam has a seminar that night. We'll be staying til Sunday.

I'm psyched! Can't wait to meet everyone! The only thing I"m bummed out about is that most of my models are up in NY in my old display cases--I haven't been able to move them down here yet. I really wish I could bring "SPOOKED!"--my wrecked Pz IV diorama, but that'll have to wait until next time!

I will be bringing my Waffentrager, M48 Patton, Tiger Coelian, and Sturmtiger vignette though, and maybe one more? Mostly, I can't wait to meet everyone and see the awesome entries! I expect to go home well-humbled! ....

I'm going to bring my guitar and a 100-watt Marshall stack, Roy--we'll have a rockin' ruckus, lol!

Karl, so you won't be shocked, Since it is only armor and the national event you will find close to 600 armor model entries. Knowing you I am sure you will be going hole with plenty of gold medals.

As for entries, since I will be flying in, I am only bring 1 model the M1009 I just finished. Its not the models it is the show and the people..it will be a blast.

Bill, I'm surprised and bummed to hear that you won't be bringing any entries, but I guess I can understand if you're doing vending? Still, it's going to be great to finally meet you and some of the rest of the guys!
